  1. I agree with the general idea but not the phrasing. Adams doesn't want to ensure a playoff berth when so many factors could throw a wrench into the plan.
  2. Imagine getting Bertuzzi and Clifton, wouldn’t be a bad jolt to our physical play
  3. Ironic how Power looks more like a traditional Swedish defenseman in style and Dahlin looks more like a Canadian in style
  4. Which one, the musician or the closer?
  5. Faceoffs and skating distance would both be effected by Wing versus Center His role with Cozens was to primarily be a triggerman since he couldn't bend as well and since the role at center is far more intensive 200ft; wing allowed him to focus on pain tolerance and aiding the offense anyway he could.
  6. Thompson will be the 1C next year as long as he is healthy enough to do so. It will give Granato some peace of mind however that Mitts can fill in if Tage were to get hurt. The 2C is Cozens next season, he’ll likely be back with the kids. The third line is where it gets interesting. In the case that Savoie makes the team; my guess is he’ll tag team the 3C role with Mitts along with Greenway or another seasoned winger. The general idea being to protect the young smaller C with Mitts able to take C when needed and “Greenway” being a deterrent and help defensively. The 4th line is the most troublesome due to the fact this scenario already rules out Kulich. Krebs is the 4C because that’s the only place left for him and he’s pretty good in that pesky role. (He also seems to relish it) The two wings however create a shmozzle. I’d guess both Okposo and Girgensons have first dibs if they wish to return. Jost and Rousek likely end up as the potential 13th/14th forwards. Additionally you could see Okposo bequeath his C to another if he’s only intending to play as an extra in order to reach 1000 games. Girgensons may end up in Pittsburgh since his wife is from there.
  7. Do you want a 1st line in Rochester of L Mitts - Tyce - L Tuch? 2 Lukes and a Tyce?
  8. That might be difficult lol
  9. Dumolin was making under minimum wage over a season lol? $541 🙂 The only Top 4 guy I like there is Orlov, Dumba is far too hot/cold while Gavrikov gives me big fish in small pond vibes. Plus the latter two will want similar money to Orlov without giving any of the experience. 2 way centers come down to cost. 3.5mil is my max for a 3C. I’d welcome ROR back if he wants to return. Kind of a prodigal son situation. Id avoid Raanta due to his injury history and proclivity to stir up trouble in the locker room. Jerry feels too much like UPL but older. Inconsistent with flashes of great play and somewhat frequent gaffes. I do like his mask though.
  10. Yup, time for our yearly PA grand conspiracy about the Pegulas.
  11. Why? Torobto is evil and it would make us have the longest drought in 2 categories
  12. *Facepalm* How exactly does this have even the slightest bit of relevance to this topic?
  13. Dahlin's comments aren't all that frightening to be honest; I honestly doubt he'd be thinking about contract stuff while working his ass off all year. Not to mention he couldn't extend until July anyway.
  14. Welcome back; keep the politics out of this forum. If you have something relating to hockey however; have at it
  15. Huh? Ugh, take your politics and shove it where the sun doesn't shine.... This is literally not even on the same planet as the topic.
  16. Ironically we fulfill both categories for the most part. KA is a former player from 17 or so years ago; but does have managerial experience and analysis skills Simultaneously we have a very highly thought of group of analytics guys whom KA brought in.
  17. Okposo isn't retiring prior to hitting his 1000th game I doubt KA won't sign him, he's the captain of the team and beloved by the entire roster. Perhaps he only plays 25 games and retires akin to Perrault but I'd suspect he'll be here next year.
  18. The main issue there is the injury creep. A team could get in major trouble if they lost a top player for a couple games. Seeing as LTIR requires a week out. My suggestion would be a 10% cap overage for the starting lineup each playoff game. You can call up 40 players but only 83.5 + 10% (so 8.35mil) can play in any game
  19. The White Goat heads were our Reverse Retros, our Black Goat heads were our official 3rd Jersey
  20. Actually the black jerseys are officially our 3rd jersey and will be back for the foreseeable future
  21. Probably pulled due to re-aggravating his injury.
  22. My guess is the starters play against Ottawa to honor the fans, then any injured player gets sat for CBJ and they play all the random dudes we have
  23. Guy with cane leans forward; what else In regards to Graves, I’d be cautious since he effectively ended our season with his stick stop on Skinner. Last time we signed someone who did that it was the clothing creator #23
  24. Based on what Adams inferred, Arizona wanted overpay for Chychrun. Also, every year is different but there are very general rules of thumb to go by. You buy rentals when you are competing for the Stanley Cup, you sell when wanting better or more draft picks and otherwise you make the best moves you can that improve the team without harming other parts. This year there is a literal juggernaut in the 1st seed. My honest question to you would be; would you trade Savoie or Kulich for a rental if you were assured a playoff berth against Boston? I certainly wouldn’t; in my opinion you always want at least 1 or 2 good/great prospects in the system at minimum as protection against busts or injury. This upcoming offseason would be the time to make some maneuvers outside those two. Barring a Top 5 pick due to winning the lottery and going up 10 spots, I’d be willing to use my 1st to get a solid player for use in the next few years. The rest of the prospect pool and picks also become assets for potential use up to a point. We‘d have a fresh season, mindset and all of our rookies would be more seasoned and our top prospects on the cusp of the NHL.
