I find it more fun to read the comments people post after the trade rumor articles on websites, far more entertaining On TSNs website, under their rumors for today the article mentioned Volchenkov of the Devils being someone the Habs should be looking at to get for Briere, because Brieres kids are close by in jersey and the Habs appear to want him out. Somone in the comment section said that the Habs don't need defence and need scoring, and that for Briere they should be able to get Moulson or Ott from Buffalo. The Habs would be lucky right now to get anything more then a mid draft pick for their healthy scratch, I think right now even giving up Stafford for him would be overpaying on the Sabres part just because its so well known the Habs want to get rid of him. Personally, I would be shocked to see Murrays first trade not be made with the Sens. Since he is so familiar with that team and what they are looking for/need, he could probably work out a really good deal for both teams and start getting the players he wants here.

Isn't it mostly filled with the draft picks and their families anyways?

Thats why I never understood the constant love for Beene in Oakland. Sure, he was the first to use analytics or whatever and it worked, he was able to build a team on the cheap, but he is still without anything more then a couple of playoff series wins in his time there. Now every fan spouts off about WAR and Fwar and ERA+, etc about every player and almost every GM will look at these stats giving him no real advantage anymore since everyones going to be using it and it just means it will shift things so that those guys are going to become out of his price range and he will need to go find some other way to build on the cheap. I'm not saying he hasn't done good, the guy is working under a huge budget restraint and built teams to get to the playoffs with these restraints, but I would have held off making the movie about him until he atleast won a championship with this method........ -
At what role?Playing on my team in their prime I say Messier As part of the front office making decisions? Probably Patrick cause he has the experience
-
That would never work By the time he turned around to skate realy fast back to the case, the guys who just finished their pickup game will have the case emptied

They have been giving up almost as many shots on goal as the Sabres were at the start of the season and their goaltenders were bailing them out. Their goaltending has been starting to regress now that they have decided Bernier should get the bulk of the starts and make Reimer the backup and they have been fighting a bunch of injuries. Throw in the fact that they have also appeared to have turned on Kadri and chasing him out of town and they are looking like a mess where the fans are going to start turning on the front office and coach soon
-
Both Goalies will be just getting back at that time (assuming they both stay to the close of the games on the 23rd)It gives them one full day of travel to get back from Sochi and be ready to play the next day. The Sabres better be hoping for anything but a Sweeden/US Gold medal game, although more then likely Enroth gets this game since he probably will not have actually played in any games for Sweeden since he looks to be the #3

Are you sure it was the guy behind Ted, And not Ted acting like the question came from the guy behind him?Or did they actually show Ted handing the check over to the guy behind him after he asked the question? -

Well yeah, of the actual "jerk Media Guys" it would be him I'm asking which one of "Devine, Nolan, Black and the Pegulas" will play the role of Bucky in the front row......... -

Who wants to take bets which one starts asking dumb questions and just want to be the "jerk media guy"? -
maybe for a small few in the modern days Kelly? Marino? Both of their teams are still looking for their replacements........ Denver never really found anything more then stop gap type guys since Elway until they picked up Manning I think the Jets have still been looking for Namaths replacement too

To be fair, Almost any team in the league could have had Rodgers, who was expected to go very high, but slipped when no one wanted to take a QB and he fell into GBs lap who decided to plan ahead for Favre ending his career. Even SF took a chance on a guy that was looking like he was a bust in Young, and then when through many lean years trying to find someone capable until they stumbled into Kaepernick. The Colts actually had to tank in the one year that manning missed in order to get the #1 overall pick to get Luck. They didn't get lucky getting a guy late, or taking a chance on a possible Bust. I think the worst part was watching the fumble recovery TD he had, where the ball just falls to him and the Chiefs looked stunned and just let him walk into the endzone.

Yup, Born and raised in Ontario, but half American on my moms side Also I would like to know when or where I have ever said anything bad or had a problem with Canada/Canadians? If anything I'm usually one of the ones defending Canada around here I guess just because I don't think the Canadian teams goaltending is a strength, or that it could cost them the gold (like it almost did in Vancouver) it make me a Canada hating terrorist

Where did I ever say they were a joke? Please back up your comments and provide where I made them out to be a joke All I said was that they would be Team Canadas weakness, and thats not making it out to be a bad thing because they are almost always a very strong team. Luongos overall stats may have looked good, but not many Canadians who followed the last olympics were confident with him in net, and he wasn't as dominant as your trying to make him out to be showing the stats. I mentioned bernier because if you read a few pages back, I responded to a post that showed the top Goalie Save %'s this season and the Canadian goalies on the list were Price and Bernier. Seems you have some problem/issue with me because I hurt your feelings I used the word overrated when refering to your Butt Buddy McDavid in the World Juniors thread.

I haven't seen anywhere that said Howard was anything but the thirdI believe it was on Monday, when they made the announcement that the US team would be named at the end of the Winter Classic game, there was a leak that said Howard was named as the 3rd, and it was already known that Miller and Quick were the top 2 I would say they are definitly the favorites going in, but their weakness is in net and it can cost them. Luo is looking like the starter, and even he didn't play great playing on his home ice the last time out in the olympics. Other Canadian goalies look like Price, Brodeur again, and Bernier. I say just for the nostalgia, bring Brodeur to be the #3 so he can have one more olympics before retiring

Assuming this is a mistake, cause I believe Howard is the 3rd goalie I don't think Canada has announced their team yet, but of the rumored goalies, only one appears on that list, Price, unless Bernier makes it as the #3 with the starter rumored to be Luongo

I don't know about the rest of you, but I don't think that US team has a chance, they all looked like children out there today when their names were called, and someone better look into it, but I think that Pacioretty was a girl. Van Riemsdyk and Howard were the only ones that looked like adult NHLers............... Seriously though, I was waiting for Howard in his interview to tell the truth and just say the team will rely on its strengths and hope the goaltenders carry them again cause that's one of the only areas where the US team appears to be stronger then most

They aren't painted, there's a line of pads out that they make to look retro like the old school pads. I know someone with a pair from Simmons in Fort Erie who made them for a few years there.
-
They are the only team in that list that I don't think picks a QB that high, not with what they have tied up in Bradford, unless they show their cards and can move him pre-draft though It would be funny to see the Texans take Carr 1st overall..........

Yup, a complete piece of S**t with agression issuesIf a minor incident like what happened is enough to set him off like that, imagine what would happen if something bigger occured? The whole Roy family needs some anger management and therapy

I hope not, If he made the decision to forgo any testing when he got to the bench, and also made the decision not to get further testing and play, thats his problem if his brain is scrambled by 40, its not like he can say he didn't know that he could end up with further complications if he continues to play.
