That was a very weak goal too, trickled in through Prices 5-holeI'm starting to think Price is the #2 most overrated goalie in the league right behind Fleury. He always seems to use the excuse that its his equipment/pads, or his goalie coach........
-
Good thing Lindys gone, otherwise we would have about a dozen pages about how dumb this is and how only one should be captain................

When it was first announced that the team was being sold to NY businessmen last week I remember reading about how it includes some deals with the arena and that is what makes it worth the money. They basically said that the arena deal is worth losing money over the hockey team. I remember that too, he said that he made the deal because he had other offers, but he was only making a deal with someone who would keep the team in Buffalo. No one else making offers were willing to agree to that
-
If its like real estate, Location, Location, LOCATION! I think the difference could be found in the value of the venue associated with the team. I have heard that the arena is a huge money maker on other events that it makes losing money on the Panthers worth the investment
-
But could he do it better then Hodgsons Dad?or Is that something Gary Roberts could teach Cody in the offseason?

i agree with not giving the C to Vanek Most people always want to give it to the most skilled player all the time and think that just because he is the most skilled he should be the leader, but vanek has never struck me as a Leader type. I'm not saying that as a bad thing though, there are just some who are not leaders out there. i can't picture him as a take charge of the room and rally the troops kind of guy. He comes accross more as the quiet, gets the job done on his own type guy. Now, I also don't think it really matters who the captain is, and believe that putting a C on any player isn't going to change how the team plays on the ice. You don't need a C or and A on your jersey to speak up and rally the guys to win, and if you do, theres something wrong.

Florida Panthers are being sold soon to some investors from New York according to TSN

There seemed to be many players on the Canadians who were a little upset with Pat, calling him a coward and a cheap shot artist basically. Better watch out, the fans may have the police issue a warrant for his arrest next time he has to go play in montreal...... I'm shocked more rinks don't look like this in the pre-season
-
Good guess? http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/story/?id=431975 "Bissonnette received a game misconduct - which calls for an automatic 10-game suspension - in the first period after leaving the bench to fight Kings forward Jordan Nolan in reaction to his hit on Coyotes defenseman Rostislav Klesla."

Don't see many going to Nets Basketball games either

But is that enough to make up for Fleury?
-
Saw an article this morning that was a link from the Vanek story that says Bylsma believes Fleury and Vokoun is the best goalie tandem in the league. I didn't realise Vokoun was THAT good **Fleury, the most overrated goaltender in Hockey**
-
Sounds like he may have used the Flyers as a way of getting the Wings to up their offer, or the wings may have used the situation to gauge what he would take to come back
-
Same here, everything I have seen just says its a front office position
-
No doubt he gets another deal, probably not something liek he currently has but a #1 goaltender type deal. There were takers for Luongo when he was on trading block, but the stumbling blocks were that no one wanted to trade for Luongo and his entire contract, while having to give up anything of value to the Cnaucks and not include a similar salary dump back to Vancouver. Gillis didn't want to give Luongo away just to get out of the contract, he wanted a good return back. Teams like the leafs, Flyers and other would have been fighting over him in FA if he was available and they didn't have to give up anything good in return. The Canucks had to do something because the entire situation was becoming more and more of a distraction that was going to cost Gillis his job if he didn't do something so he unloaded the one that he would get the best return for. The problem is that for so long, it was always how luongo would be traded and how the Canucks would ship him out because they liked the "up and comer" with the smaller salary. The front office was making it known they wanted to move him, fans turned on him because they liked the idea of the younger guy better, the media was consistently asking him about hsi contract and the fact that the team was going to move him somewhere else, Luongo got himself to the point where he knew he was being moved out and then all of the sudden the other guy is moved and they say Luo is their guy. I don't think I would be overly excited to come back to that either. Luongo on an open market would have no problem finding a newer job with a smaller deal, he has been one of the top goalies in the league for many years. He isn't one of the MANY one year wonders who teams go out and give big FA contracts to for maybe a couple of good seasons (Bryz, Bobrovsky, etc.)
-
Well, he got that part right, but it has nothing to do with the first part..........Theres plenty of other reasons why thats true
-
twice IIRC (Toronto and Vancouver?)
-
Wow, no one is going to use this to start a Leino to be bought out theory? Someone with his contract ssys that he needs to save money and thats why he has cheap seats to the Stones Concert, i thought someone would be all over that meaning he knows the Sabres are going to void his contract or something along those lines, people here are really slipping/letting this slide. Something must be wrong!
-
The Saviour? DoubtfulIt would have to be whomever is left from the "rotten old core" Maybe Tallinder although he did just return, but fans here seem to enjoy whipping the old dogs that are on cheap deals to fill a lower type role (See 2012-2013 - Hecht, Jochen) If I had to guess, I'm taking someone who is playing 3rd or 4th line minutes or maybe the number 5-7 defencmen on the team cause those guys are always expected to be superstars around here and are whipped for only being role player guys
-
Yup, all stuff that was already said before he was signed and Columbus knew aboutHe is signed long term, its not like they signed him for just this season and he would be the centrepiece to their team making a run
-
That would be awesome, and much more entertaining then the 2014 Sabres will be!

well look above, It is part of a company that does work with the waste water from Hydro fracting and in todays "Everythings a conspiracy theory world ............................

Bruins top 5 pick in 2010 was Torontos pick that they got for Kessel and have shipped away to Dallas because they weren't thrilled with him As for the Kings, the #4 in the 2007 Draft hasn't played in the NHL, and the #5 pick in the 2009 Draft was traded with others to Philly in the offseason before they won the Cup. i would really say that those teams took the 'suck for years to get top 5 picks' approaches to win their cups
-
Take a look at the list and go back to 2000, theres alot of players there that never sniffed an NHL ice surface. I would bet you could take a look at any GMs records at drafting and find similar results
-
Ah, I see how this works, since you can't answer a simple question that really should be very easy to do because Darcy is such an amazing Drafter of Talent, your only defene is to throw it back with even more restrictions. As for your first part about these teams that have been bad for a long time to accumulate these top picks, how many of them took 15 years to assemble a team thats able to win? How many of them had 1/3 of that time to do it? Chicago and pittsburgh are the only 2 previous winners that had been bad enough to get multiple top 5 picks and win it. Who else, The Kings? The Bruins?
