  1. Go where? To the hospital? I hear he is on his way there right now.....
  2. obviously not a Canadian phone..... And the goal was a softie, it was put in from the back of the face off circle,NHL goaltenders should not let those ones in
  3. Sounds about right, the considered Kadri and someone else as regulars I think, then one said he included someone else but thought it was being nice to include him.
  4. Funny thing is if you read comments from leafs fans now its all about how they had only a couple of regulars in the lineup and the sabres had more then 3x as many regulars so the Sabres just beat the Leafs AHL Club Yeah, i know Just feels weird saying that cause she was already a teenager when I met my wife My wife was the youngest of 3, and both of her older siblings have older kids who are now teens or in their 20's. I have only been with my wife for just over 5 years Heck, I have a great neice and nephew I guess since her brothers oldest son has 2 kids of his own who are as old or older then my own kids.....
  5. You can tell its a leafs home game considering tickets are going for $95-75, for a preseason game. The arena is nice but I rarely want to pay that much for regular season tickets. I won 2 today at at work and ended up giving them to my wife's niece.
  6. how many of those teams went after the big UFA's? The last few years Toronto has purged their roster of them and stayed out of that market. This year they tried for Seafood who went back to his original team and Vessey who went to one of the only bigger markets out there. They did make a huge FA signing by getting Babcock, who blew off buffalo for them. Pittsburgh doesn't need the top UFA's right now and don't have the cap room for them either so they have been more in the 2ND tier market. As for Buffalo, sure they got Okposo, who's a great player, but not exactly one of the NHL elite, except in comparison to the weaker top end FA market once Stamkos resigned
  7. who cares what round pick it is, it's not exaggerating. The sabres gave up the best asset to the Preds in order to get this kids rights to show him they were serious about wanting him to be a part of their future here. If some team Marva better offer he would have been traded there. His response is thanks, but I would rather look elsewhere, maybe I will come back if I don't get an offer from better places. Who cares what this kid has done in college, against weaker players, it doesn't mean he will amount to squat in the NHL. He deserves boos from Buffalo and Nashville fans, although complete silence would be better cause what's the point in wasting your breath booing someone who most likely will amount to nothing special except for another overhyped prospect
  8. sabres fans have every right to boo this guy. The sabres did everything to convince this guy to sign here and he blows them off to go somewhere else. The sabres went above and beyond others by actually trading for his rights to convince him to come here and he says he would rather go elsewhere. If you can't boo this guy, who can you boo? exactly, Stamkos resigned with his existing team, he never had a chance for the sabres to make a pitch or show their interest in him cause he was property of the lightning. Richards you could argue because they madebtheir pitch and he chose someone else, but he wasn't rude about it. Atleast those guys had a resume to back themselves up. This guy is a nobody in the nhl and the Sabres went above and beyond to woo this guy and he basically spits in their face by saying he wants to look elsewhere. Why shouldn't the fans feel slighted by him?
  9. Only Nashville and Buffalo The rest of the teams would be the same as a regular free agent signing. No one else is losing draft picks over him signing elsewhere
  10. it's the problem with slot of these events today where it's now all about the money. The only ones making the money are the IOC and the Media. The TV deals are huge while they charge a fortune for advertising. The CPU tries all try to out do the previous ones now where it seems each Olympics costs substantially more then the previous because you have to do something better then the last place. It's funny that now citizens are pushing back at their governments and wanting them to pull out bids for the Olympics because they see these things are big money losers. It's to the point where the IOC are almost begging countries to take the next available Olympics cause no one wants them. It seems like the US/Canada and London atleast try and reuse their venues they build for the games. It's sad to see some of these countries like Russia and China where the venues they paid huge money for have been left to rot and not reused afterwards.
  11. besides the obvious answer, corruption, I saw something recently where Rio, was supposed to build close to a dozen sewage treatment plants that may have been part of their bid, and they only built one of them and its running at around 50% capacity
  12. I remember seeing a quote from an American athlete who had the complete opposite view saying they would swim in whatever to represent their country. All I thought after seeing that is how dumb this person was, or disillusioned. It must be an amazing feeling to win a medal for by our country, but when you break it down, is anyone really going to remember you winning the medal unless your one of the few top athletes who wins multiple medals or where something happened in order for you to win? Is it worth possibly le facing a dangerous illness or getting a disease that can affect your long-term health to represent your country in a sporting event few people care about outside of these games?
  13. I would expect Buffalo fans to boo him if he doesn't sign here, it might be his choice where he wants to sign but that doesn't mean fans have to be happy with his choice. And if I were Buffalo,I would be asking the league for review of any tampering that may be going on because there shouldn't be any talking coming from him and/or his agent speaking about other teams unless it's 'I can't comment about Chicago/Boston/Toronto/etc at this time that Buffalo holds his rights' I will be glad when he moves on somewhere else and this is over, he is coming off as an egotistical entitled kid who got lucky with a loophole in the rules that he gets to shop himself without proving anything it's gonna be tough but should the goal be to have the SS equivalent of the epic Mario Williams thread on the bills board?
  14. I think the issue with Lemieux wasn't that they saw him going backwards or wanted to deal him, iirc I think he told TM he didn't intend on signing again to stay in Buffalo
  15. probably figures it will only be another season or 2 before the front office is gone ND hopefully enough youth is still around
  16. Bernier just trade from Leafs back to Cali to the Ducks for a conditional draft pick, will it be better then what TM bought Nilson for?
  17. nope, according to the Canadian sports media Edmonton got the best UFA this year with Lucic
  18. First, Vessey didn't earn anything yet when it comes to the NHL, he was given this opportunity to pick and choose where to play because of a rule the NHL has when it comes to college drafted players that other players don't get the opportunity. In 4 years can Sam or Jack, who have already earned more in the NHL say they want to go be an UFA? They will get to be RFAs and be stuck for a few more years before becoming FAs. Second, it's funny how at his age he is a 'man' who can make his own choices, yet Kane and others are kids when it comes to making dumb moves and getting in trouble. Third, he does have a choice when it came to the draft. Players have to enter themselves into the NHL draft in order to be drafted. The NHL doesn't draft player who haven't entered themselves into the draft to be drafted.
  19. OK, forgot about punching a teammate. As for Kane, Sportsnet here has a rumor that the Canucks might be interested in Kane, don't know what they would have to offer, but they are looking for a winger, and we do have a past dealing them 'power forwards' who never quite panned out here......... so who currently would be their Hodgson?
  20. OK, so one, although I don't know if wheeler has playedone to a level where he deserves to be calling the shots and being handed a top 6 role without proving himself in the league. Both Nashville and Buffalo have told him they were going to have him in their top 6 Unfortunately it's not all the players fault, the CBA gives them the ability, and GMs will fall over themselves to sign them thinking they may get a hidden gem
  21. me too, I prefer they bring in backup guys who have the skill/potential to beat out the current starter then just bringing in guys that will never challenge for the starting spot. Nelson may or may not be good, don't know much about him, but a player like NiemI would all east challenge Lehner for the job. I prefer seeing the teams GM always looking to upgrade what we have, especially when there are players who haven't shown the should be locked in a starting role yet....
  22. 2 of those guys only had reputations of being prima donas (Harvin and maybe shady), Rex was just a blowhard idiot, Richie was the only one that you could say could tarnish an image because bullying is such a big thing these days
  23. Have any of these big college FAs who left the team who drafted the to seek out a better opportunity amounto to anything NHL Wise? Schultz was one of the last ones I remember and hemiss pretty much a bust, then there was the kid Chicago had that left to the Rangers iirc....
