  1. Hopefully he's not turning into... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vyacheslav_Kozlov
  2. WTF... had to pop in to say Leopold is SUCKING majorly, but you all have it covered. :)
  3. I lo Thanks. I lost my grandfathers in 1983 and 1996, and my father in 2000. It is always tough to lose someone you love, but I refuse to believe there isn't a heaven for them.
  4. Think about this for a second... he is in great company, my friend. GREAT company. There's a hockey game going on up there right now.
  5. Gentlemen, Ladies, The NHL has little respect for the Sabres judging by the opening night reports. How in the HECK do you say there are rivalry matchups when you take away from us all of our division rivals AND northern rivals? Who are we playing, the New Jersey Devils????? Man, this is a slap in the face if I have seen one. My guess is that we get stuck with the Devils... :( Pittsburgh Penguins at Philadelphia Flyers Toronto Maple Leafs at Montreal Canadiens Colorado Avalanche at Minnesota Wild Florida Panthers vs. Washington Capitals Ottawa Senators at Winnipeg Jets Detroit Red Wings at St. Louis Blues New York Rangers at Boston Bruins Columbus Blue Jackets at Nashville Predators http://aol.sportingn...s-bruins-canadi
  6. Next season, from what I understand... he's a member of the Saskatoon Blades this season.
  7. I just watched the Canada/Russia World Juniors game... Andrei Makarov LOCKED IT DOWN after coming in cold off the bench in a 6-5 Russia win. Signing him may be one of the biggest steals we have ever had- not Stephane Beauregard-Dominik Hasek like, but it could get VERY interesting in Rochester soon!!!!
  8. You know, I am sick to death of non-NHL fans making these stupid jokes about the season being over, and "good luck in believing there will be hockey", huh huh huh... that makes me mad more than anything at this point. I've gone through all the anger I'm going to go through with these "negotiations"....
  9. Roger Crozier, Gerry Desjardins and Don Edwards don't exactly fit this philosophy, IMO... it was only when Hasek came where we were built from the goal out. The Sabres are successful when they have a couple of consistently awesome goal scorers and a solid goalie. I think personally we have relied too much on our goalie in recent years and it is debilitating. Not having a capable "up and comer" with the Amerks is problematic.
  10. Being down 2-1 to the Kings, scoring the GTG at 1:27 of the third period, and getting the assist in ooooooooooovertiiiime in Be A Pro Mode on NHL 13! :)
  11. They were quick to accept the government bailout of the auto industry up there, and then this is how they repay the debt? If they wanted to do the right thing, DON'T ACCEPT GOVERNMENT HANDOUTS and fix your own mess.
  12. It is called the modern trickle down theory- give the rich more breaks, and the money never trickles down to anyone while the jobs go overseas or go away!
  13. The same owners that just took all the goodwill from the past two days and flushed it down the toilet by stonewalling the process? Good luck in selling that one here.
  14. I cannot believe that the Penguins are serious. It is like watching LaFontaine all over again, sadly... they must be giving him this as a feel-good gesture, because it makes absolutely no sense any other way. http://espn.go.com/nhl/story/_/id/8107350/pittsburgh-penguins-sidney-crosby-reach-9-figure-deal-source-says
  15. That reminds me... I have to cut down on the salt- it isn't good for my health. BA DOOP CHING!
  16. What is really disheartening to me is the fact that John Wayne was a lot like my grandfather, I mean by how he dressed, spoke, and lived his life, and every time I see him on a clip it reminds me of him, but of course I know too much about the man to enjoy any of his films in the least. I remember a few years ago wondering why actors I saw would just pop back up in the 60s and 70s and then found out why- it was an episode of The Wild Wild West that sparked the interest, an older actor who played an evil sea captain who was very good. Try John Wayne: American by Randy Roberts and James Stuart Olson- it gives an accurate description of his attitude. You will see that if someone dared to defend themselves, did not apologize, and/or made films he disliked for being "un-American", they had to be Communist. Very bizarre...
  17. His leadership in the Motion Picture Alliance for the Preservation of American Ideals ruined people and tried to ruin people like Burgess Meredith, a man who was in my eyes a tremendous actor that we lost for many years. He served this country in World War II with distinction and all he got for it was horrid treatment because he chose honor. John Wayne knew nothing of honor by allowing fellow actors to be sold down the river... ESPECIALLY since they worked together AND sold war bonds together before McCarthy. John Wayne could have stood up for Meredith, but he chose not to.
  18. I'll never watch a John Wayne movie because of his activities in the 1950's, which frankly disgusted me. Some on the list of blackballed artists is astounding- Leonard Bernstein, Aaron Copland, Howard Duff, Will Geer, Lena Horne, Langston Hughes, Burl Ives, Gypsy Rose Lee, Burgess Meredith, Arthur Miller, Henry Morgan, Zero Mostel, Edward G. Robinson, Artie Shaw, and Orson Welles. I could not imagine popular American music and film without many of these names!!!!
  19. Citizen Kane is #1 with AFI and is hardly mentioned, so join the club :) I didn't like it that much when I saw it... I've always preferred a great story and characters to the action of a move like King Kong anyways. It is much more thrilling to me to see how Cagney reacts in jail when he finds out his mother dies or the tete a tete between Goldfinger and James Bond.
  20. You'll love this one! My gf worked for a Finance Manager that had been at her non-profit for almost 20 years as her second. The Finance Manager decided to leave, and instead of promoting my gf to her position, they hired some bozo who spent a lot more time texting and buying useless things with company money and a lot less time doing her freaking job. Since she took over, there was a larger deficit and the books gradually became a mess, and naturally she tried to blame my gf. In the end, my gf filed for FMLA and was fired after she decided not to come back instead of being blamed for a mess that wasn't hers. Collecting unemployment that the company pays for and letting the worthless new Finance Manager rightly burn is fitting revenge for piss-poor HR and management decisions. We expect the non-profit to collapse within a year because of their mismanagement. Stuff like this happens all the time!!!!
  21. Thanks for the positive responses...! So much hate and war have been created by straying from the ideas of Christ and holding tightly onto religious law with a clenched fist... probably the reason why the Pharisees and Sadducees despised him so much! ;) Saw this after I posted.. you got it :)
  22. City Lights The Great Dictator Shadows (Lon Chaney film) White Heat The Roaring Twenties Boys Town Citizen Kane Modern Times Its A Wonderful Life The Third Man Strangers On A Train From Russia With Love Goldfinger
  23. Jesus Christ did teach compassion, forgiveness, etc, and she is being more Christian-like than most 'Christian' people who actually know it, that's for sure. Bashing her isn't cool IMO/
