  1. you noticed,... loafing is ok when you get the chance, but not on that rush
  2. there will be hand ringing, tears, and 24 hour coverage for a month.
  3. they are all rooting for the Bruins.... lol...interesting Mil did not mention that an x sabre scored... He hates the Sabres...I think Ruff must have busted Mrs Mil
  4. cody, vanek , ennis..a defensive disaster... nice line coach
  5. What does the Hockey Hall of Fame have to do with my post? My point was there are plenty of not so good goalies. with very good numbers playing on teams that make them look good and vice versa. You need to get beyond GAA/ WINS / SP? SOG to compare goalies or to find a pearl in the system. My point was Miller is better than his numbers...You should raise this issue with Miller if you get the chance .
  6. He is not better imo...... In Buffalo Vanek played with a one playmaking center and a big scoring rw????? Not ...Gab or Nash would be lost in Buffalo. They played with realcenters when they put up those numers? If you could get one of them , which you can not , who would you play on the one line with him? Cody? Stafford? Maybe Ennis..lol Maybe Gerbe would be a good fit.lol..Both shoot first wingers that need high shot totals to produce playing on a team with low shot totals and a limited number of skill players? no? Would you expect their numbers to go up or down playing with this cast?. How do they do on the pp?
  7. Not with save percentage and shots on goal lol. I leave that to the fans, beat writers and sportcasters . Do you think total shots taken matter, how about scoring chances as a percentage of total shots on goal ,or the location from which the shot was taken (within scoring chances sthere are zone values), how about the type of shot taken, or obstructed or unobstructed, deflected or not?. How about the quality of the defense , number of defensive zone give aways, blocked shots, odd man rushes, break aways, goals 5x5 vs 5x4 vs 5x3, defensive vs offensive zone time. .. There are about fifty variables if you really want to quantify and compare goaltenders.and take into account the quality of the d they play behind as a factor ..I think Miller has not yet realized his potential. .I also think Enroth may be the smallest goalie in the NHL...lol. I like the d without Myers.(fyi I was the guy telling you he was not that good a year ago, when consensus was he was the next Chara) I do think he can become a more than servicable 2nd pair d man with the right partner and coach. I also hope i am wrong. With him it is not skill sets. .Fans just like to yell the goatender sucks when a puck goes in on a deflection or a d man misses his assigment. They do it here.
  8. imo 1. the premium for any 30+ goal scorer in Buffalo is +1 mil or more, if you are trying to sign them as a ufa . Its is not ,and will not be in the near future, a hockey destination for NHLers with significant skill sets. That leaves trade or development as the only real options, imo. 2 People who compare goaltenders by talking save percentage and GAA, are like people whole compare players by arguing goals scored or points. 3. If you wanted to compare numbers for wingers, it would probably be best to compare r wingers with r wingers and l wingers with l wingers. Comparing most wingers with a elite centers is really a stretch. It would probably be helpful to consider in your assessment the quality of the line mates they play with ,the quality of the teams they play on, the types of minutes they play ,and the quality of the defenses they play against . I have said it a million times, the fact tat 26 put up 240+ in his career here was a miracle? In most of those games he was not playing with Crosby as his center and Brown on his RW, nor was he playing on a perennial play off team with two or three scoring lines. The Buffalo Sabres have been a one scoring line team for the past six years and have never had a true one center, an imposing physical rw or a pp for that matter.( I must admit that Pominville and vanek did have chemistry and did pretty well given the circumstances and the limitations of the team around them) (it was a fatal mistake to let Pom go imo / it put Miller and Vanek in play and has to have an impact on Otts decision to stay... without Miller , vanek and Ott there is onlyone rebuild option) He was the one player we had that was consistently the focus of every teams defensive scheme and he played the bulk of his minutes against shutdown lines . Vanek put up better numbers here than a number of the names you mention as superior players would have over the same period here. Would love to see young taylor come here, although it will never happen. If it did, I doubt he will put up 240 + over the same period on this team and play in front of the net on the pp effectively. Thomas will have 40+ goal potential for the next five or so years. I hope he ends up with a team where he can prove my point. .
  9. not mine...one of the most skilled guys on the team imo
  10. vanek is stupid, slow, does not care, is overpaid, streaky, gets injured too often, is not interested in playing offense, or defense, has a squeaky voice and...will soon be gone ..so relax,,, the off season is coming and there will be much anticipation for Sabres fans next year and for years to come as darcy rebuilds the team...get ready for 2020..now ..lol
  11. lol...they cannot be liscensed by the nys athlectic commission because of previous head injuries how about a spear fight, no shots to the head
  12. two periods of sleepy trap hockey interupted by , a freak goal ,followed by 19 mins of better non contact hockey. None of Phillys real tough guys seemed to want a piece of John Scott...strange.. huh...Enroth is not 5'11" lol ..not much skill left on the ice for the Sabres.. looks like the guys are trying to stay healthy for the off season,
  13. because he was tripled while waitng at the line standing still..and Myers plunked it off the post into his lap then got cauht falt footed, again and in too deep?..lol any line wth myers, 44, cody , adam and a wounded Vanek, is a defensive disaster waiting to happen with all their defects the last two shifts looks like they are waking up
  14. Wait a moment... somebody will tell you he "is playing better" or about his award..lol
  15. those who think they can stand pat with this young d are incorrect imo
  16. thank you for the sanity.. Col is to hockey what tampa bay is to baseball...
  17. +50 Right on the money... to add to your position... how many years left on the LW's contract? On your goaltenders contract? It diminishes their value further in some trade scenerios. Personally I hope they both escape and go to playoff teams. That would leave the fans here to watch another eight years more of ever hopeful hockey..lol. and give us the chance to watch more x Buffalo players in the playoffs..( I am well used to that so it does not matter to me one way or the other. thank you for noting that...
