  1. was thinking the same thing...they are here ..two by "no skill porter" lol
  2. playing on the fourth line! defensive laspes! matchups...!...has been ice cold offensively! does not play on the PK? His father wrote Rolston a letter ? He whized in the coaches soup!
  3. There are about seven or eight teams where he would have a good chance to break the 100pt barrier..And yes i have seen Holmstrom skate 100 times and he was probably a bottom 1/3 skater as a 21 year old. He turned out to be the greatest late 10th rounders ever. (understatement) .. I think Vanek is a hair faster in a strait line lol, more talented, will have better numbers when he is finnished, but he will never be a better skater lol.
  4. Excellent points all.And lets not forget that, there is also a NY/Buffalo premium to be paid for some players on contracts when attemptng to sign a UFA or trying to extend a contract for talent coming back after a trade.(actually it happens before the trade when your gm asks their agent quietly if you will play for Buffalo and what it will take to extend the term of your contract) I am sure Darcy made tenative deals that blew up when the player coming back sent the signal they would not extend or resign with Buffalo if traded there.Same with Pom, Vanek and Miller. (plus Miller and Pom have the eight team leverage) Too late guys..Those who say wait until next summer to max return! lol They get to steer or kill the deal if they refuse to extend their contracts as part of the deal. They can make themselves one year rentals in any deal , now and next summer.. So where is the max return in that scenerio? You get a return based on a one year rental for a player who just told you he will not play for you.Thats all .. A trade at this point imo is a three way deal... Sabres, their Tading Partner and Pom or Vanek or Miller.. There is no "decent return" or "blow me away return" "max return"unless Vanek Miller and Pom make it so during the trade .process. There are picks, prospects and some nhl ready players if they are not playing ball, but those guys are coin tosses in most instances The Gm waited too long to resign them or trade them...just like Danny and Chris. lol.. Just think of the return if they all had two/ three left on their contracts.
  5. You make a valid point. I think i have raised it more than once too.lol. But i think every team has a pom or two.. You get to the playoffs with players like pom and although you do not expect them to carry you in the physical war of the playoffs they will survive it and contribute to the max effort .
  6. trading pom now is crazy, imo...although i would be happy if Vanek , Pom and Miller were to escape this mess on wensday, providing they go to contenders. They have paid their dues. (Such a waste of talent over the past six years.) Six years of how not to build a team .Then we can all watch Myers and Cody develop into the massive talents i am told they will be over the next six years..lol
  7. same thoughts here... do you think they told him he would be surrounded by mediocrity when they signed him .lol i wish him the cup this year and now have a team to follow through the playoffs with some interest
  8. I threw his name in there specifically for you.( the right fly on calm water) lol So that you could tell me how talented he is, or how good he is...or how good he will be or may be or could be .....lol... I wanted to type Myers and added Ennis by mistake...sorry Tyler ,,, Now i can say it again.. Cody skates well, can carry the puck into the zone ,has good hands, is very good on the boards, has average vision / sence, but he shoots like a girl, is a defensive disaster, and has recently developed a little too much of a Roy shoot first complex for my liking. (mostly mistakes of youth) Maybe he has forgot why he was there...to pass the puck to Pom and Vanek and to go to the net. Part of that lines dry spell was Cody forgetting his mission imo..Maybe he got mesmerized by his own numbers. Just pass the puck and your numbers will come ...you were playing with two of the most unselfish wingers in the game. If Pom and Vanek end up leaving he will look back on this season with fondness. They upped his value .It will be years before he plays again with the likes of them..
  9. Yet with those lines , had how many scoring chances? How many scoring chances did the Kaleta line have? How many open nets, how many on the Pom line? These lines, lol, produced multiple open nets and real scoring chances, and they were pretty well distributed. The pp was better, still too slow ,but missing a player who can put the puck in the net,. It was an entertaining game imo. The problem on this team last night was not the Flynns, Scotts, Kaletas, etc. it was scoring and thats a problem you lay in the lap of the "skill guys" like Pom, Cody, Stafford, Gerbe, Hoff and Ennis. Defense was pretty good from a d core perspective in this one. Miller was excellent. The skill players are not as skilled as they were supposed to be, with the exception of Pom. Who brought them in? The same guy that is going to rebuild your team with picks and prospects? And i just do not understand how anyone who has ever played hockey could say the things that get said here about the way 55 plays the game. He is one of the better deals in the NHL at 1.5 mil. How many years do you think it takes for an Armia and Grigs to develop? What are the odds of them becoming elite or atleast achieving top sixty status? ...
  10. the sabres are a scoring machine..snipers all ..the new core , pass through cody and andres second boo boo for 2-0...back to back --1's ..
  11. oh yes it can... a lot worse and there will be six people in the stands...
  12. because the first line has not scored since vanek left it? lol probably looking for o zone time and cody is good skating in and on the boards... now that i said that he can score! how many of Codys pts do you think he has because he played on a line with Pom and Vanek. ?
  13. that 2 on one was real pretty..lol now put scott in front of the net on the pp
  14. I think embellishment should be an official part of the game, like it is in soccer and the wwf
  15. disgust? depression? grief? remorse? think pom has it too
