In the second half was he playing hurt, who was he playing with, line mates, , where was POM or did lindy go to Vanek and popuri lines, was he still drawing the shut down lines from other teams, where two guys going to him every time he crossed into the offensive zone with the puck..The Philly series , Good goose.lol 100% agreement on the softies... i would like to see him go .. To a team with all of the things i mentioned the sanbres did not have.Maybe Boston or the Rangers, Philly! I would like to see Pom And Vanek have a shot at the cup like Roy. But not because he did not perform. It been fun watching him.

Yep get rid of Vanek. He is how many goals away from Gare and Ramsey at 28! It is taking too long for him to pass them. Nobody thinks he can catch Andrechuk in four more seasons anyway . At 6.4 million he is too expensive. Look how cheap other guys with his numbers are going for in this market.. He is a bum. Who cares if he did most of his scoring without a center, a pp, any semblence of protection from his teamates for all the cheap shots he takes in a game, with the dimished minutes his coach gives him and alwys against the other teams shut down line. We do not need guys that put up 25 a season playing hurt for half the season. Pom And Vanek did not carry this team for the first 2/3 of the season last year and god knows they did not carry it for the five years before that. with Roy. Vanek only has 7 goals in the last two playoff series. He is a bum.

He disappeared in the Boston series imo , if we are talking about the same series (the one where Vanek got chopped), after they started paying attention to him. Pom became very contact adverse. It is hard to compare them offensively . They have different skills and games and absorb different levels of punishiment...but there is some validity in the point you make. Lets see him play a year on the one line without Vanek. Pom has 3 goal in the last two playoff series..

Totally agree on Pom.. The sabres most versitile and best two way player. His only weakness. He is non physical , and light on the boards. Although he and Vanek feed off each other when on the ice together it is Vanek that creates room for pom not vice versa. The absence of a dynamic playmaking one center kills that line. A great player but not one i see making it through a Boston and then LA series intact. He tends to disappear when banged imo. Great numbers , great player , love him on the team. I do wonder what his numbers would look like without all those years with Vanek.
