I remember that harsh exchange on the bench.. Some guys will not let you ride them. So why would you resign with a team that has a coach you may not agree with, has not been sucessfull and did not fulfill its promises to you, when you can sign with any of ten other teams who are sucessful for more money ? Same question for Vanek, Pom and Miller. Vanek is worth Rick Nash money + on the right team. Hoff is not a 1st pairing defender imo.. He is a excellent 2, a key pp element and offensive defenseman. He and Sultzer are the only Sabres defenders who understand finesse/timing/speed/placement when shooting from the point on the pp. (maybe a european thing)(I thought Pardy and Leopold have looked ok on ocassion too) On the defense side ,I think he has scored more goals on Miller than any other defender excluding Myers. I watch him play a WTF game defensively and then i watch him play a perfect one ???? and then i wonder wonder! I must admit that he is one of those guys, like Regher who will step up their game against a superior big physical team.

I agree 100%..the Sabres best defenseman hands down... Not really a great system fit given what he is surrounded with and who he has been paired with. Remember when there were those here arguing that the departure of tallinder and lydman would not hurt the team..Then the bugels were blowing for Myers as the shut down guy etc etc etc The bright future for Weber, Sekerra, Leo etc..The same people will now start the let Regehr go chant/ Regehr leaving would be a huge blow to the Sabres imo. He is their only true first pair defenseman regardless of how many steps he has lost. Mate him with a younger version of himself and you have a starting point. I do not think he will re-sign which in the end will have more of an adverse effect than letting Tallinder and Lydman go imo.

+1... and what would be the Sabres chances of replacing him...nill ...this is the first year in a few Lindy is giving him more than 13 min a game..lol .. we will know early next season.. if he does not sign early..he will be trade bait. a pretty good quality loaner to a contender. Pom would be smart to depart too.. another drury/briere situation? up in the same year?

Lashoff is a free agent at the end of the year, sign him..lol .. a baby, age wise , and a stay at home defender ready now to play third pair in the NHL.. An impressive appearence with Detroit over a five game stint.. An excellent acquistion for a team in the rebuilding phase.. Brennan, Weber, Hoff, Sekerra, Lashoff and et al.... (In the world of fandom you are only as good as your last game.).

Winning in the NHL has nothing to do with your captain. You either have the pieces and coaching you need, or you do not. It is as impossible to bring 100% in every game in the nhl. All players take games off.... (coast).. What in the world is this dicussion about winning and captains and bringing 100% every game about? Is this fantasy forum?

Agreed . Hard to say he is not an impact player...lol.. just send him to the net . See if he can fore check...let the d and wingers get the puck into the offensive zone lol... occasionally mix him in on the one two and three lines just to leave the impression he can show up anywhere if necessary... :flirt: use him like a hockey player.. a big physical one.. put him with Vanek in a blowout ..Vanek will get him a goal..lol value is a relative term... no? value compared to who on the Sabres? If value mean making sure Vanek ,Miller, Pom and Ennis do not have to take as many cheap shots and finnish a season ,i would have to think about it. He is slow but has some vision, instincts and a ton of presence. I did not see Boychuk or Bergeron chopping on Vanek in that game or Pom getting boarded. Even Chara was polite I could name more than a few guys on this team that contribute less than scott. Given the girlish nature of this team i have always thought Lindy should use his enforcer in a wider protection mode . Especially if he can play 8 min without hurting you

He is much more than a goon ..imo a servicable winger role player more than capable of 7-8 min a game on the fourth line when necessary.Loved it when Lindy mixed him in on a different line once or twice. I really want to see him in front of the net on a pp ..once.. just to see how much room he gets. could have a future on the 2nd pp unit.. seems really hard to move him and opposing players cut him a wide path. He did play 30 games with chicago and was only a minus 1....with 39 hits... wonder what his minutes looked like (had a number of 8 min games.

The U.s dollar has been devalued by about 20% + in last four years or so.. By the end of the next two it will be 30%. It is called Quanitiative easing..or simple minded people like me ,the printing money . This glut of dollars is why the stock market is over 14,000 and gas prices have permantely jumped. I do not think you will see a drop in the value of the Canadian dollar any time soon. It should actually go up as we print more money ...providing they control their printing presses and balance their budget each year (which they pass every year/lol)

not suspendable, it is common for a player to fend off a defenders check with a forearm or hand, the rookie needs to learn how not to lead with his head. No suspension. It not like he treid to kill him or that young doughie dogcrap did not embellish it big time. there is a big difference between throwing an elbow and fending off a hit with a forearm.

He is a pretty low profile guy in person.. Not an agressive personality.. Few guys who have to play his role are wads imo(.Peters is a decent guy too). I only wished they would have asked about Scotts scoring chance.. He probability would have loved the opportunity to talk about the shot and hockey for once. He was very respectable on the ice last night as a hockey player.. some good defense and everywhere he goes there is space...have you noticed.. In the next game Lindy should have him shadow Lucic on one shift.or put him out for one shift on the pp in front of the net next to Chara.(have him whisper.."stop chopping Vanek").message delivered (too bad actually doing it would be a no no)

TRY reading the bruins game forum.. more four letter words than a second grade spelling bee Start Myers. He is not what many here thought he was but he is so very young and hopefully will grow into his role. All young players have games like that.. Lindy...some of those shifts were very long... FYI ..Scott did not make any errors on the ice and made a couple of good decisions with the puck. He is not fast but he is also not without some hockey sense. In a pinch he is more than a 4 minute guy.

Agreed....Two more big body guys like him and you have the spark you are looking for... this team needs secondary scoring too. Myers should not sit...the next game..

miller amazing vanek... likes to play against Boston.. my guess is no love lost weber.... Physical Foligno huge Pom...always high expectations sekerra scott........huge message sent to boston when thornton got his mellon mushed with that strait right hand followed by the uppercut sulzer Cody ennis stafford Gigs..even after a few kid mistakes make a head up play with patience for a team with a one man d... not a bad game
