  1. Something that blew my mind when I saw it mostly because I had never seen nor heard of Rick before this series but I saw the actor that plays him in an interview and he's British. Puts on a pretty good American accent.
  2. The Govenor will be coming up against Rick when he's at his weakest most vulnerable spot and methinks Darrel will be the defacto leader. It'll be interesting to see if Merle jumps ship on the Gov.
  3. Well politics does attract the leaches and parasites. People are slowly coming around up here and in the last few years there has been a shift in thinking in regards to this type of thievery.
  4. Sounds like a Canadian member of parliament. Work a 3 or 4 year term and collect 100 000 plus a year for life.
  5. My thoughts are with everyone affected by this storm. In regards to Obama and the above comment( by Wjag ) I think he's damned if he does and damned if he doesn't in this situation especially in an election year. From my perspective as an outsider, I'm sure he was referring to how historically the American people are known to bounce back in the face of extreme conditions. But thats just my take.
  6. Yeah saturday night 7.7 up in the queen charlottes which is now called Haida Gwai. Not an overly populated area but they has tsunami warnings all over the coast and over to Hawaii. Yesterday another 6.3 which may have just been an aftershock. There have been quite a few of those. I'm on Vancouver Island and never felt a thing. The epicenter is quite a ways away to the north.
  7. As much as the players love to play in it and the league just loves to bask in the glow of the attention it brings I could really give a rats azz about the winter classic this year and hope the damn thing is cancelled. Neither the league nor the players deserve it and as a fan who's already been denied hockey thus far I will boycott watching it if and when it plays. Just doing my part to show these smug basterds how I feel about their ineptitude in getting this thing done.
  8. I'm thinking that American troops are some of the best trained in the world so that scene was hard to swallow really but this show hasn't lost me yet. I'm still diggin the story line and where they're taking it so far. You've got to believe that 'if ' this was reality they would run into other communities of survivors and power struggles would ensue as I'm sure we're about to see. I imagine the govenor was thinking about adding to his collection of bottled heads as he sipped his scotch in the final scene last night. MUAHAHAHA
  9. Well either way Hull has his name on the cup and we can't take that away from him. This is on the league anyhow. Always has been and always will be in my mind. They fukced up. I'm over it. :wallbash:
  10. Regardless of who it is or isn't throwing people off with untruths about salary isn't out of the question for someone that wishes to remain anonymous.
  11. Yeah you very well could be right. I didn't read enough of it to break it down its just his name came to mind for some odd reason when I scanned it. Probably because he was recently in the news? He certainly would like the challenge of turning Columbus around.
  12. Just a hunch but I'm guessing its John Davidson. He was technically not an employee of an N.H.L. team after he stepped down from the Blues and had a window to speak his mind without repercussions until he signed on with Columbus.
  13. If he'd carve a pumpkin to piss off Sabres fans he's just the kind of guy that would peruse the sabrespace forums to see how we're all taking it so to you Mr Hall I say ' NO GOAL ! '
  14. I never said they hired Fehr because they had a strong desire to play this season. They did in my opinion hire the best man for the job. Which I think first and foremost is to protect their interests and see that they get a fair deal. The reason they are not playing is the owners locked them out.
  15. The league has Buttman. The N.H.L.P.A. has Fehr. Seems like a tradeoff to me. As I said before if they switched sides they'd still do the job to the best of their ability. its what they're paid to do. How can anything less be expected of the players union?
  16. Hopefully the Amerks powerplay is a good sign for the future of the sabres powerplay. They seem to have it going on down there. Hopefully Ruff is filling his notebook.
  17. Have to admit I enjoyed Rick splitting hairs with the machete on the prison mouthpiece.
  18. You go into battle you want the strongest possible leader unless you want to lie down. Despite what everyone seems to be saying here, I can't for the life of me understand why the N.H.L.P.A. should simply lie down and take their lumps. In that line of thinking they should do the same and just give up every time their collective agreement expires. Please sir, more soup. After the last C.B.A. the union knew exactly what the owners would bring to the table. They knew the owners would go for the throat and show no quarter. Thats exactly what the owners did. The union hired the best possible leader they could find going into this negotiation. I commend them for that.
  19. Its about time Arod suffered some humility. It was almost imperceptible but I think I saw his head shrink just a little bit during that series.
  20. I agree with your assessment. The older real bluesy stuff like tres hombres and rio grande mud to name a couple were so much better than their stab at the mass market. Getting back to what got them here is sounding good. I recently read a good interview with Billy Gibbens and Dan Auerbach of the Black keys in Rolling Stone where they discuss all the old american blues greats and their styles and in particular what it was about those guys that originally got them interested in the blues. A real good read.
  21. I remember something to that effect but obviously I had the sides mixed up. Doh ! My bad. Bun
