  1. If they do I guess they'd have to keep a large portion of his salary. I believe the new rule is you can only keep 50%.
  2. Something that kind of bothered me last year and I see it in this video is when Jack stands straight up while the puck is in play.
  3. I'll admit I have no idea how good he is other than hearsay. I have zero first hand knowledge to form an opinion unless I can count Youtube.
  4. My only hope through these difficult times is that people that don't know the Lord will allow him to introduce himself - those that do know him will draw closer.
  5. That's an interesting take
  6. It's definitely where it's coming from and he owns it. Hockey for me is one of the last sports where the athletes still have the decorum that the fans respect. They typically are loyal to each other, the city and team they play for, they play injured unlike any other pro athlete IMO and they respect hockey and it's history. It's more than lip service it's an overall lack of respect that rubs me wrong. I'm not whining or at least I'm not trying to come off that way - but officially saying Boston and Chicago are on his list when Buffalo owns his rights to me is out of order. Then his agent says "Chicago is on the list but that shouldn't read that their ahead of anyone else". Who the hell do these people think they are. If I'm Chicago - I'm furious too. I think they deserve a bit more respect for where they've been and are to be hearing he'll string them along too if he wants to.
  7. I think booing is a little over the top but I think he's handled the Buffalo trade of his rights incorrectly. That interview with the Boston reporter is evidence of it. What the hell would be so wrong if he said the following: 1) It's an honor that they traded a draft pick just to have the ability to speak with me. 2) I respect that they have that right and I will of course talk with them. 3) I really appreciate the Sabres spending the resources to fly out to meet me and I'm very impressed with their organization. 4) I don't know that it's necessary but if they want to talk again before August 15th I would be happy to do that. 5) I'm not disclosing who's on my list although I'm sure some of you could guess one because of where I was born - but it would be disrespectful to Buffalo before August 15th. Instead he said he learned a lot about how to handle August 15th with other teams and they agreed to leave me alone now. There's something about this kid I don't like and I promise it has nothing to do with him not signing with us now or if he ever does. I just basically think he's disrespectful and possibly a punk.
  8. I think what he meant is his arrest being pictured and it being for lesser charges than the more serious accusations is because he's black.
  9. Then would you agree that if it's only Vesey interested in them at this point - it's a bit presumptuous?
  10. Technically since they can't talk to him or his representation - are we naive to believe it's just Vesey wanting to talk to them?
  11. Definitely something that's just a rumor derived from that it appears he was offered that in Nashville. I guess most just connected dots that it's what he'd be wanting from a team he chooses.
  12. I'm definitely not trying to sound sour or like I'm condemning the young man - it just seems a bit out of hand to me. I guess I just don't know how to react when a report comes out that he's put Chicago on his short list. There's just something about hearing that - that makes me think slow your role kid. My guess is Chicago won't pre-negotiate top minutes - where a team like Buffalo might have that conversation. I'm having a hard time figuring out what he could be looking for. He went from a prospect that appeared to be good enough to go to a team trending upwards and get minutes out of the gate - to possibly playing with Toews?
  13. I hear you too and like I said I'm not knowledgeable enough to look at youtube videos of Vesey and then say he can (fill in the blank). But darn he's considering Chicago and he'll want top 6 minutes? There's something uncomfortable about this dude for me.
  14. There's just something about this situation I'm not liking. Now we're saying he's got an opportunity to be on the top line in Chicago? I think either we're or he's getting way ahead of himself. I'm not going to pretend to know college hockey players like a lot of you do - but this seems to be getting stranger and stranger. He better play well or IMO he's a built in distraction in a sport that is one of the last where that's a problem.
  15. Gosh that's a pretty big stretch to invoke racism. Your post doesn't make sense all the way to tongue and cheek to arrest him for that crime. The only thing I can see having an issue with is the picture being taken - but taking a picture of a known person has been happening for a very long time and isn't inherently racial.
  16. I think you might be right in terms of most fans read them but that's mostly likely because it gets linked everywhere fans frequent. I think the spirit of the poll is do buy or electronically go to TBN to read these 2. So in terms of actually reading - I'll admit I said no but I sometimes do - however only in the context I gave. I do not go to them direct for consumption and it's due to the content not their lack of ability to write.
  17. You're right we might be passing each other in the same direction. You have a better pulse on TBN limitations with labor - but it appears Dunne is a newspaper guy and after one year takes a non newspaper gig? I could totally be wrong but my guess is it wasn't an opportunity in terms of money that made him leave.
  18. He wrote for the news briefly in 2010 then spent 4 years in Milwaukee to then come back to TBN. After only one year it doesn't make sense that he wrote for newspapers his whole career and doesn't know what the earning landscape is. It could be as simple as it was a better opportunity. IMO, TBN losing Dunne is a problem for them when their readers or potential readers don't want the mainstay's like Sullivan. They shouldn't lose Dunne after one year unless theirs problems there.
  19. Tyler Dunne is a big loss for the reader. What's crazy is he's still going to be based in Buffalo - but it's unclear on whether he'll be covering Buffalo sports or at least to what extent. TBN can't keep a guy who's staying in WNY. They must have the analytics to prove guys like Sullivan are what they want. They're a profitable organization but it sure seems like they operate without understanding what their sports reader wants.
  20. Oh no that was intentional - there's no other reason to word it that way. Makes it look like it was a separate event instead of when we traded for him that's the contract we took on. Sullivan is a POS man - he lives for this crap because he seriously hates Buffalo - but he's so incredibly lazy he can't leave. TBN is stuck with him too because they can't keep young talent like Tyler Dunne.
  21. Good information. I'd imagine having the best doctors/surgeons in the world available at the very least helps.
  22. You're correct - you mentioned Pegula not Sullivan. In response to Sullivan writing about GMTM - he's also wrong about that. Instead of blaming Kane for his actions - he has to opine that he was right and the GM of a major sports team wasn't. He again clearly doesn't understand what GMTM is doing and can't comprehend that signing Kane is precisely the type of thing this team should be doing.
  23. He's been the owner for what 4.5 seasons. The first full was an attempt to spend money, extend Lindy and multiple attempts at honoring past Sabres - and started spending a ton of money upgrading the facilities. They quickly changed course and started the tank which clearly was an overwhelmingly good decision. He's been an absolutely amazing owner and the fruits are starting to show. Sullivan doesn't want anyone to believe that because he's bitter. He's realizing no one cares what he thinks and he hates that even more - and then he writes a pitiful article like this. I've spent a few nights with Sullivan but I don't pretend to know him well - however what you do quickly pick up on is he's a hateful little man.
  24. That's not the point. The Buffalo News doesn't just blame Kane - they have to add that it's incompetence on the part of the organization and that Sullivan was right about it. Why can't the piece say "The Sabres took a chance on Kane and he's blowing it"? The answer is because they're really bad at what they do.
