I think baptiste and carrier have a good shot at making it. Baptiste was highly regarded as one of the top prospects around the time of the CHL draft...his stock dropped a bit after a few mediocre years, he fell to the third in a deep draft, and then he exploded last year and probably would be a sure fire first rounder in a redraft. I'm excited to hear how he does at development camp -- iirc he was one of our best players at last years

man, blues fans are pissed off…kinda funny how we would've been happy (most of us) to get him for that term and price. And they lost sobotka to the khl they are not happy at all happy

from the winnipeg boards it seems they're not too thrilled with him leaving but they're happy to get something back in return as it was clear he wasn't going to sign there (he wants to be closer to home which is in connecticut). theres one guy who says he liked him enough as a prospect to say that he has legitimate 3rd line potential in the NHL and could see him moving up after only a year in the AHL (he's 24yo). id take that for a 7th rounder

i think i would too, and I LOVE zadorov. it leads back to the debate we had before this past draft about drafting defensemen high, and why so many didn't want Ekblad -- i think many would prefer the young potential top forward than the defenseman. but it also has a lot to do with the depth and needs of our team currently

I would love to get Mantha but from reading Detroit boards they will riot if they give him up for Myers…which I'm perfectly okay with :) i definitely think murray should hold out for him, exactly the kind of player we need (finishing winger). were in no rush to move myers where detroit has young forward talent to the max and needs a good current NHL defenseman to stay in contention for the cup now. Just curious though, I'm as big of a Zadorov fan as any here on this board, and i know there are a ton, but i remember myself and other wanting Mantha in the draft last year… couldn't believe he fell to detroit. so-- Would you trade zadorov straight up for mantha at this point (hypothetically speaking that detroit would accept)? i think both have improved their stock a lot, even being mid-first rounders in the 1st place

Speaking of the Arizona coyotes, who do they have on that team besides OEL and Yandle? I don't think I can name a single forward on their team besides Bissonette and I'm not sure he counts.... What are the chances of them competing for a top pick next year?

I liked this pick. Guy is a great skater and has a ton of skill. He was the 3rd pick in his CHL draft for a reason. I think he's got a chance
