Carter Hart played tonight and got lit up by the Leafs 6-2, so Samuel Ersson is expected to play tomorrow. He's actually won his last 3 starts, stopping 80 out of 86 shots in the 3 games. Also, with this being that weird make up game (Tampa moved to Saturday in March and this moved from March to tomorrow) i would imagine tomorrow will be the smallest crowd of the season.

I was there and yeah it was a great time. Very festive. What sucks for this team is they don't get to experience that too often and the game before the Christmas break (night 1 of the storm) was also going to be a sold out arena vs Tampa. If not for this massive storm we would've gotten this type of crowd back to back home games. Next one will probably be Ryan Miller night.

Yeah it all comes down to cost. I'm okay dealing some of the prospects as long as it makes sense for us too.

Besides making it tougher for the opponents to score i think the big reason is his presence gives Dahlin more space and allows him to play more aggressive. Imagine what this team could become if they added someone like Jacob Chychrun to the blue line?

That 8 game losing streak was a major buzz kill for this season though. Any slump of like 4 or more games the rest of the way will doom them.

Did you watch on nhl network? i did, and at the end of the 3rd period they cut away and said “we’re now going to the USA vs Switzerland game, when someone scores well let you know.” Wtf I couldn’t believe it. I watched the entire Sweden/Czech game but didn’t see OT. Wtf As far as the game, I thought Kulich was very solid. Rosen was quiet today. Could barely tell he was playing. Wasn’t active attacking or creating scoring chances as he usually does.

It’s interesting, bc this morning Adams said no dates have been mentioned yet for the Columbus reschedule and he was expecting a call either today or tomorrow to discuss some dates. But Dreger said the other day most likely it’ll be added to at the end of our schedule. So instead of Ottawa being our last game, it’ll be our last home game and then a trip to Columbus.

The Sabres are fun. They’re still not a complete package. Really enjoying how well Jost plays both ends of the ice. Crazy how that was only a waiver claim. Such a small addition but a big add to the lineup. On a day twitter had some banter about defensemen bc Pilut was waived, I thought Bryson was poor. First Wings goal I’m not exactly sure what he was doing on that play. Don’t know how long this will be sustainable for but if the Sabres play with this energy, pace and chip on their shoulder (some feistiness from JJP, Cozens and Dahlin tonight) they can compete with any team in this league if goaltending holds up.

100th career point for Murray. Also 100th career pro victory for Subban. The fight between Hutchinson and Murray really woke up the Comets. I was sitting few rows behind the Comets bench and when Hutchinson came out of the box they celebrated him like he just scored a gwg, my buddy and I joked that with the game over (4-0 at that point) they just celebrated anything even small victories to hype themselves up. But it really fired them up. I thought even despite not scoring Weissbach was one of the best Amerks players tonight. Biro and Rousek also stood out to me.

I agree. Of the prospects that are not yet with the Sabres, Kulich is the player i am most excited about. How versatile he is, his shot, how he skates, the way he plays, he seems like the total package. 6 goals and 10 assists in 24 AHL games as a 18 year old is insane. For quick comparison, last season as a 19-year old in the AHL, JJ Peterka had 4 goals at Christmas break. Two teams get promoted. Norway has already qualified for promotion for the 2024 WJC.

Probably the wrong thread for this but i'm not in the camp to trade Rosen, but i do think combining some of our assets and moving them for a more proven and ready player that fills our need. At some point it will become a numbers game. Theres just so many spots and realistically not all of these kids will pan out.

Czechia up 5-2 mid-way through the second. The goalie for the Czech's Suchanek is the kid who was at Sabres dev camp last summer. He's playing great tonight. He's gonna get really tested in the third. Huge upset brewing though
