Who is the Sabres 2nd Best Forward?

I'd rather not remember. -
Sure isn't Dahlin or Risto.

GDT: Sabres at Maple Leafs, Saturday 11/30/19, 7:00 pm

Hutton needs some luck. -
The Pegulas spent a lot of money to not care. Among others, Watkins, Woods, and Gilmore were free agents who walked. I believe it happens in pro sports.

Guess no one wants Risto. A real shame. -
He traded for Montour well after ROR was gone.

I'll buy that! -
Now all he has to do is become a 30 goal scorer this season.
-
Perhaps he can sue the Blues for highway robbery and get O'Reilly back.

Erod is a frustrating player to watch...

Re Erod, he hasn't been playing much and who's he been playing with? Not saying he's a scoring machine but he has talent. Ask Jack. -

Erod would perhaps be less invisible if he was playing regularly and in the top six. He's been playing on mediocre teams, which can drag you down as well. Secondly, all teams need role players that don't necessarily light up the scoreboard. The role player we truly need is someone who can police the game. My favorite these days is Tom Wilson of the Caps: tough, intimidating, and can score. -

Does Botterill make a trade this week?

What happened to the hardwire when he traded O'Reilly? That trade was great but for the wrong team. -

If we don't have grit on the farm, bring some in via a trade. We sorely need it. -
When we fall behind we lose focus. In a number of games, including this one, we forecheck hard early on and put pressure on the other team. The early shots on goal numbers exemplify this. If we fall behind, the forecheck disappears and we basically start running around (losing focus) and allow the opposing team to begin and continue to dominate. That's probably a coaching thing more than anything else. Aside from that, we're a very soft team. Gritty teams make it difficult for the other team to dominate. For example, teams think twice before they toy with the Caps. A primary reason is Tom Wilson. He'll make them pay big time. It's quite possible we're too dependent on Scandinavian players in this regard. They're generally finesse players. I guess what I'm saying is this team lacks consistency, toughness, and balance.
