  1. okposo returned weakened after that concussion meds incident. if he cant return to his former wrecking ball playmaker self then he probably loses the A by default Pomminstein could be a nice steadying force as an A as his career winds down bogo if hes ready to play steadily
  2. if jack aint the C blow it all up cuz that would be disasterous
  3. fwiw, ill tell you the story about why im banned on tbd. of course its relevant here, too. idk why im not banned here too, but whatever those of you that know me know im an independent centrist. thats not a 'finger in the wind' centrist, its a 'wisdom resides in the middle' centrist, somewhat buddha-ish philosophy. you also know i am a very long time civil rights activist, even married a crazy black woman - who wasnt crazy at first then went total classic insane black woman crazy on me. so theres that anyway, there i am in the main tbd board posting along with the conversations involving kaepercz9xnick and the protests, and im articulating how i think blackness is making mistakes that also contribute to the inability of the races to come together over the nfl protests note that in this conversation there are plenty of places where whiteness is criticized/blamed. i am simply pointing out where my black brothers and sister are ALSO legitimately making mistakes and contributing to the problem all of a sudden i start seeing my posts not be mine anymore because they have changed! im not making this up, the mods were literally editing my posts to remove my valid constructive criticisms of blackness amidst the sea of criticisms of whiteness (!!!) let me repeat that: the mods though it was ok to selectively edit out my contribution to the discussion by going into my posts and deleting what they didnt like - with no record of them doing that whatsoever what could possibly go wrong?!!?!? obviously i was furious i posted a thread saying that if you are going to just edit me for no good reason and with no trail to show you did it, then just ban me the rest is history this is a popular place so they can afford to act that way. doesnt make it right. doesnt make the problem of mind hives and groupthing and millemmingals and constant warring over stupid ѕhit go away at least they saved the world by banning a guy telling the truth about the negatives within a blackness he adores. nice job, fellas i expect i wont be poster here much longer either, so bye fellas. fight against the machine
  4. i agree the shootout points are crucial to a middling team like the sabres you know its perfectly legal to switch goalies for the shootout. it would piss any starting goalie off to get replaced after you got the team to the shootout but perhaps housley has the balls to let ochocinco take all shootout trys i sincerely doubt it. but with a .500-ish career shootout save pcentage on a team trying to squeak into the playoffs it might be time to think outside of the crease
  5. i gotta say, great answers from you guys on this question. nice freakin job
  6. guys a bonafide jerk but hell of a hockey player. i hope they can keep him, but if not at least trade him for some good value assets
  7. honestly i have no idea about this 'dangerous shot' save %. is there someplace that compiles that stat? when i watch regular season games i dont sit there and keep my eyes glued to the tv, i usually just sit here at my computer desk and surf the net or play a game and then watch critical moments (pp, sh), replays, or whenever it sounds like rick jeanerette is working up to something so i didnt notice the dangerous shot issue myself. if that really is the case then yeah i would be very hesitant to commit to him, too
  8. i completely forgot about the shootout percentages. i do recall he was a brutal oh-for-everything last year, but that could just be a statistical anomaly. so i went and looked up his career shootout save percentage and its barely over .500. so yes indeed he does have a problem with shootout performance good point it goes without saying he needs to have a good season not only for the sabres to make the playoffs but for him to stick around here
  9. it seemed like all spring and summer they were trying to find reasons not to keep robin lehner. naturally the gm/coaching change delayed any resolution. but it was pretty obvious the general consensus was that his status was up in the air for reasons other than the management change and his free agency then when they finally got everything in place all they did was sign lehner to a one-year deal worth 4M, placing him approximately 24th in the league in total salary i dont get it wasnt the sabres defense one of the leagues worst last season? even so, lehners save% was .920, good for 8th in the league among starters. he faced not only a lot of shots, he also faced a lot of prime scoring position shots, so that high of a save % is pretty remarkable. the eye test told me that most nights he was one of their best players on the ice so why is everyone (including management) so lukewarm on the guy? at 26 hes still pretty young for a goalie, so to step in and perform that well on a bad defensive team should be viewed as an impressive feat. i know he had that big injury problem in 15 and only played 20-ish games, but he bounced back fine and played 59 last season so why didnt they try to lock him up for at least 2-3 years? whats the deal with the 1-year sort of trial deal?
  10. well i figured tim was safe but apparently terry didnt think he was good enough i wonder who he has in mind for each job id love to see ruff back in bflo. but who would the gm be?
  11. oh wait, you guys were NOT talking about the actual firing well whatever. seems big enough news for its own thread
  12. oh so this is why nobody posted a thread. sorry
  13. just reported on local cable news, no link yet
  14. yes. i had almost blocked them from my mind. thanks for that, btw. those playoff losses hurt so bad, makes this year seem like nuthin
  15. playoffs were a reasonable goal but it was still a stretch to expect them to make it. i figured they'd make a run in the second half and get everybody excited but then still not make the playoffs. so pretty much hit the nail on the head there, tho it wasnt really a difficult prediction to make kulikov was a tough one. when healthy hes a reasonably good player so his loss was missed. almost nobody else stepped up. jack did and robin did and bad kane did. too many defensive breakdowns and not much stepping up back there. secondary scoring was weak getting within three before the break was exciting. then they promptly crumbled and died, that was very disappointing and yeah, watching it happen to other teams in exactly the way we hoped it was happening here makes it suck serious ass probably 2nd or 3rd most disappointing. the captains debacle was tops. i cant remember details of other seasons but i certainly remember feeling worse than this. no goal is probably at least tied
  16. the nhl has had this mind bottlingly inconsistent punishment for many decades. ive always expected they would fix it eventually but they never have. its like a tradition or something: remove the superstars from punishment consideration and spin a wheel to determine number of games for everybody else btw, when i used to play in mens rec leagues there were guys who liked to do that thing with putting the blade of their stick up between your cup and your balls. its infuriating bc you have to stop skating or risk injury, and the refs hardly never call it bc there is no overt motion that makes them aware of it. of course its also a super dirty play. idk what its like in the nhl but there are plenty of retaliations i used to use. the most obvious is just whacking them firmly in the balls the next time you get the chance, which gets the message across but that risks a penalty. and you cant just do the same thing they did to you bc that sort of legitimizes it and they will never stop. a better way is the next time you get close enough to make body contact with them choke up on the butt end of your stick and leave it out so that it digs firmly into their ribs. then when they protest that you hurt their ribs just tell them the next time they put their stick near your balls youre going to break those ribs. never had to do that more than once with anybody
  17. one word: gump worsley lol. rickshaw made the op then disappeared off the face of the earth. probably to hide his shame
  18. when i first saw this i thought it was easy: gilbert, dom, patty, alexander, and phil cant really see putting fuhr and horton before those last two. guess my votes got lost in the mail
  19. seventy five games for a center. you would think one would have at least bounced in off his ass by then
  20. i wasnt playing bc i was on vaca but i recall an active outdoor rink in austria with a bar you could skate up to and get what they called a jägertea but was really more like a hot long island ice tea coffee. twice the caffeine and five times the drunkenness. too bad it was just open skate that night but they did play hockey on it. woulda loved to see that eh
  21. i played in a mens league that was at a rink with a legitimate restaurant. so you could accuse a guy of being a ****ing wussy on the ice and have a steak and jack daniels with him afterwards
