Kim Pegula suffered a Cardiac Arrest;Has residual Aphasia and Memory Issues
Eleven replied to Brawndo's topic in The Aud Club
OK this is going to go in all sorts of directions now. -
Bad math. You're forgetting to subtract whoever it is that he'll be replacing, for one thing. And there are a few others. I still do not advocate for trading for a guy that's not going to fit w/I the cap.

Like I said, they all look alike.

GDT - Sabres @ Jets - January 26, 2023 - 8:00 PM (EST) - MSG and TSN3

Agree 100% No bowl of Cheerios is safe, huh? -
Well, good for him, sorta? I was hoping he wouldn't land on a no-talent team, but, then again, high-talent teams don't often look for new HCs.
-
Is it Thursday again? They all look alike.
-
Sure was. Is he getting consideration for HC or for something else?
-
Especially in the convenient single serving package.
-
FWIW I haven't seen a single Chicago message board discussing a potential McCabe trade. Just @Brawndo's tweet from the Meier thread.
-
He's 36! McCabe comes through the next several years at only $4M. If they're going to give up a 4th or 5th for Johnson, fine, but McCabe is the better player and the better move. EDIT: Please remember that it needn't be a one-off for this season. The team lacks depth on D and we all know it.
-
It might even have been a good idea. It's a division rival and sometimes some sandpaper is needed.
-
He doesn't move.
-
He wasn't the ingredient that previously made the team sick, though.
-
He wasn't the problem. He saw the problem and realized he couldn't fix it here and didn't mind leaving AT THE TIME.
-
At a certain point, he may even have been the Sabres' best defenseman. I've always loved his "special brand of mean," a phrase I used more than once here to describe his play. Get him.
-
You have a point. It still doesn't matter; his salary is too high. Can't do it.
-
My first thought: It always takes me like four viewings to see what's going on with these because I'm instinctively looking at the puck when I watch on a screen (unlike watching live). My second thought: It's a two-minute minor and that's it. It's just a routine crosscheck to the back. Maybe a double. MAYBE.

I know a man with a nape tattoo explaining that he is a stroke victim and asking for patience. He points to it when he needs to. Imagine that level of disability, just in a millisecond. It's a nightmare. -
I think that McCabe could be the piece the Sabres are missing to get into the playoffs. And his salary isn't exorbitant enough that they'd need Chicago to retain. I'd do it for the 2nd and B-level guy. I'd even give them Vegas's second, which, if the Sabres get McCabe, might be a better pick. Or they can take choice.

I like tapioca pudding.
-
For things the Sabres are reportedly "in" on, I suggest separate threads like the current Timo Meier thread. For other stuff, like the present McCabe discussion, I suggest here.
-
It is. Gonna start a trade speculation thread to catch stuff like this.
-
I don't think it hurt St. Louis one bit--they didn't know what Thompson was going to turn into--to make the ROR deal. Those deals do happen once in a while. I just don't think the Sabres can afford him.
-
Obviously, from my comments in the Dallas game thread, I am of the opinion that the Sabres have an impending salary cap problem. If the Sharks want to do a rental deal as if Meier was becoming a UFA, I'd consider it, but I don't think SJ is up for that. I don't think the Sabres can afford to pick him up.

And a goalie, too.
