Rasmus Asplund traded to Nashville for a 2025 7th Round Pick
Eleven replied to Brawndo's topic in The Aud Club
Agree w the Brisson thing, but players notice when a guy gets moved because he needs an opportunity. I think they know who Asplund is--he's a plugger, and the players know the pluggers on their own teams as well as on other teams. -

And this, and the Bjork move, have value; players notice this stuff and consider it when discerning possible destinations. It’s like the opposite of the Hall trade (other teams notice weakness). -
It is but they're American.

Dunleavy is definitely growing on me.

I like the phrase but I don't think it's the first time I've heard Ray say it. A tough road to swallow? That happened?!

Which is why Arizona gets away with it. Oh--and new arena coinciding with the arrival of 58 first round draft picks? Yeah, that, too. Right now, I want Arizona to win the lottery just so we can see the NHL try to explain why Bedard is playing to an audience of 5000 every night for a few years.

Now I know how young Harry Potter must have felt on Christmas. I woke up all excited but I know I'm not getting any presents.

They had to dig their own cars out of the snow when they returned after the blizzard.

Also while we were sleeping: Max Domi from Chicago to Dallas for a second rounder and a swap of minor league goalies.

Arizona traded Bjugstad and Dineen to Edmonton for a prospect and a 2023 third. Of course, Arizona retained 50% on Bjugstad. I think this makes about 60% of Arizona's payroll going to people who do not actually play for the team. I'm not exaggerating--it's close to 60%.

It's "weather," and you're the person who complained the most when the Sabres DID acquire a defenseman.

Ok I turned it on at 2-0 and left at 4-0 and WTF happened? -

I’ll bet the advanced stats support it. It was really the only move there. -

Down 3 in a playoff chase? It is the only thing that made sense. of course, Boston scored, so now Granato will go back to his usual pattern of waiting too long. -
MSG's Sabre Games: No Cable Needed Next Season
Eleven replied to That Aud Smell's topic in The Aud Club
$210 / year for Sabres and apx. $150 / year for one streaming service at a time (which is all I have time to watch) is MUCH less expensive than cable. -
Boston did something stupid for a guy who will be a UFA this summer. Let's enjoy it. (Unfortunately, they helped out another division rival in the process.)

Detroit with four picks in the first rounds of the next two drafts now. You know some of them will hit.
-
And it's not a short term need, either. Getting a defenseman through 2025 at a reasonable price would have been great.
-
Adams does not properly evaluate the team's needs. He just doesn't. He hasn't fixed the mess in goal and now he's got a bare cupboard for a blue line. Draft picks outside the top five are lottery tickets. We all know that. A first round pick in 2023 (even in a deep draft) and a second round pick a year or two from now are not sure things. But certain defensemen are. He needed to pull the trigger and didn't.
-
Yeah, that's not a lot. I would have expected a higher price given the McCabe deal. This should have been doable for the Sabres.

I just don't love beef on weck. I'll eat it, sure, but I am hardly a connoisseur.

Remember when that guy was a Calder runner-up?
