So while considering the bungle that was the trade of Halak for Neuvirth and a player who refused to report a few years ago, I started wondering about the Ryan Miller / Steve Ott trade tree. It doesn't look like it's paying off a whole lot, but I haven't tracked it all the way to the end. Hasek turned into Jochen Hecht and Kevin Sundher, nothing more. That's where it ends. Meanwhile, Rick Martin's trade tree still is bearing fruit, which is not bad for a guy who died nine years ago.

Actually, it might have been nice for the NHL to allow spouses and children to live in the bubble. Hindsight, though...

The Sabres didn't have Jack or Rasmus Darlin when those trades happened. They are wasting Jack's time here. He will either demand a trade or just leave when his time is up. He wants, and deserves, a shot at the Cup. And it won't be long before Dahlin feels the same way.
