The conditions were no more dangerous than a normal September game at many SEC / ACC schools. The league can't have a schedule where the Bills only host in September and October and the Dolphins only host in November and December. Someone is going to have to play in Miami in September, and someone is going to have to play in Buffalo in December, and it really doesn't matter who.

There is only one team that could have performed that well under these conditions, and the Bills are that team. They'd better pull it together fast, though, starters or not, because Baltimore is going to be a tough out next week.

That is as close to a true tryout lineup as the Sabres probably can get. Cozens, the crusty veteran.

Honestly, I think it's too early. There's a fair argument that waiting until the end of the season leaves Adams holding all the cards or whatever, but that argument presupposes that he'd have other offers AND makes the mistaken assumption that there are only two choices, now and June. I have liked a lot of his moves, but there are some missed opportunities, too, and the goaltending situation is still a huge problem several years into his tenure. I would have preferred to see how Comrie works out; if so, extend Adams, if not, see what Adams does to fix it. The early months of 2023 would have been a fine time to evaluate and extend/not.

Yeah, there is that Maple Leaves training camp invite that makes the rounds now and then, I think from 1965, telling them that they're expected to be able to handle 10 pushups or whatever.

I think somewhat? I didn't mean my remark to mean that it was the league doing something stupid, just that it's a little different to have a game three days into camp. Very unlike NFL/MLB.

I wouldn't know where to find a stat like that, but I would have bet it was somewhere in that area. I think they don't understand the difference between being right and having absolute proof on video that they are right.

Miami is good. I said it a few years ago when they drafted Tua and still had stockpiled eleventy billion draft picks: that team was going to be good. And now it is. And I don't think they'll sweep the Bills, but anyone who thinks they're going to be a walkover is fooling themselves. I also have a grim view of tonight. Tennessee just seems to have the Bills' number. Until and unless the Bills can stand up and show they can beat the Titans, I see Tennessee as a tough out no matter who the QB and receivers are. Plus these DL injuries all of the sudden...
