I'm going to meet you all at UP and already told Woody about it (despite my sarcasm earlier); I can just stand if they can't accommodate us with a table.
Reading through the last few posts, it seems that we can agree that Mittleltadt sucks. The problem is whether his replacement is in the organization, which iit isn't. Can you honestly see this guy starting games in Chicago, much less Boston?
Because he always was expected to be a defensive forward (WE KNEW THIS even if you weren't here at the time), which he is. Mittlestadt was expected to be a scorer at least, and a two-way player at best, and is good at neither.
Tickets are not sold for the first round of the playoffs (or for any round except for the Super Bowl), nor are stadiums booked. They don't even know who plays where yet. They do this on one week's notice for every round every year.
The question is how bad is he now (he is) and not whether the Sabres should have drafted a guy who couldn't do one pullup at 8th overall (they shouldn't have).
Plenty of time. The Super Bowl is set in advance, but the playoff games are not, and there is that extra week before the Super Bowl that the NFL could just eliminate (cf. 1991).
