Everything has changed. The team is making strides to be on par with the winningest franchises in the game. Not everyone has had continued success throughout their NHL lifetimes, all teams have had slumps, bad seasons, missed playoffs and been at the bottom of the league just like the Sabres were. The top teams today aren't that far removed from there, it's amazing what a couple top 5 picks can do for a franchise(Oilers excluded)

Thanks. Well that second year could be a problem for Gorges, captain Gionta his buddy will be gone and they'll need his roster spot. Maybe 7th d. As for the rest of the mentioned. I'd really like to see a team of them in Rochester playing and winning together this year and next but could easily see Fasching and Bailey challenging for spots this year with Gionta getting demoted to 4th line mins.

Yeah i get it. Ideally i'd like a guy who has been held back a bit by their current team who's lookin to springboard a backup job into starterville.

Gorges and Gionta are on the last year of their deals and out of respect will be on the roster this year. Franson is also one and done and I think most likely a trade candidate in the right situation. The next two years will see an influx of 2-4 of those young players u mentioned IMO

If Lehner is the man, he'll start. If not Bish can hold down the fort a year.

How about Ben Bishop for a year? Lehner can prove it if he wants to start, if not Bish can handle the year. They have cap space to use.
