  1. The terrible coworker is out today, it's a beautiful day outside, and the bf is coming to visit tomorrow. Day drinking and baseball on Saturday and hiking (weather dependent) on Sunday. Bring on the weekend!!
  2. Should've clarified; I use Hulu to watch NBC shows like Chicago Fire, but they do not currently have an agreement to watch NHL games through Hulu. Not true. If that were the case, this thread would probably not exist. THIS.
  3. Ideally, yes (although there are still far too many late round games on NBCSN), and I did that in PA. Sadly, out here NBC and ABC are broadcast as high-VHF channels vs the more common UHF, which requires a stronger (rooftop) antenna than I can mount in an apartment. So the only way I can watch NBC without cable is via Hulu. :(
  4. This is hilarious: This Dating Site Wants To Find You A Canadian If Trump Becomes President
  5. Yeah, that makes more sense. I still hate it, though.
  6. Dammit... you make so much sense, and I don't like it. :nana:
  7. Blargh; so you're saying the exclusive rights are for the cable and satellite providers, not NBC. Still, if NBC is owned by Comcast, don't they get a cut regardless of whether you're paying Comcast or paying NBC?
  8. How do they already have the option for NBC Live (or whatever the current streaming platform is called), then? Forgive me if I'm being dense; it just seems like the infrastructure is already in place and all they need to do is offer a paid (or pay per view?) option in addition to the current subscriber login method. It shouldn't be so complicated!
  9. Why can't NBC retain the exclusive broadcast rights and offer a direct paid streaming service through them? I don't understand why that isn't an option.
  10. Why can't they "overcharge" for the standalone product in some way they feel would compensate? If it's too high, people won't buy it, so no loss. But they might be surprised at how many would still elect that over cable. I think I'd happily pay $20/mo for just NBC and NBCSN.
  11. I know I've said this a million times, but the issue (IMO) is that they won't give us an option to pay for it. We're not asking for it for free; we're asking for them to provide us a way to pay for that product outside of a blanket cable subscription that includes a bunch of other crap channels we don't want or need. Why is that asking so much?
  12. Much appreciated, good sir! I've actually never made a meatloaf myself, but I had no idea beans were typically part of the recipe rather than a side dish. I think the double egg will be a requirement with the altitude here.
  13. Oatmeal in meatloaf? Hmm... sounds odd, but I'm intrigued. Go on....
  14. ... because you have cable! Not every one does (or wants to).
  15. I remember that, but back that the NHL streaming package included the first two rounds of the playoffs.
  16. YES, it is. I haven't watched the playoffs the last few years, partly due to the fact that the Sabres haven't been involved, but mostly because I have no way to watch the games. It's a travesty that even the Stanley Cup Finals are now primarily broadcast on NBCSN and not NBC.
  17. My stepmom just started a new exercise program 2 weeks ago to try and get back on track while she continues to job-hunt (she's been unemployed since November), and on Monday morning she broke her toe when she accidentally kicked the bed riser. And their clothes dryer is on it's way out. All they want is to be healthy and work, and somehow that is asking too much of the universe right now.
  18. It just looks so unappealing, and the chain restaurant variety is usually pretty awful. Meatballs are awesome and meatloaf is mostly just a giant meatball, but you almost have to overcook it so the middle is done, which turns it into a giant well done slab of beef... ick. If someone has a recipe that actually stays moist and doesn't taste like a hockey puck with ketchup on it, please share!
  19. Maybe... it was a local shop where I picked out the Trek (super helpful sales person), but it was raining that day so we couldn't take it outside. I kinda like the idea of re-learning on a loaner bike at that lesson so when I pick up the new one we can set the seat properly and I won't have to mess with it much after (I've heard you want to set the seat as low as possible when learning).
  20. I hope so! It's embarrassing how unstable I am now, but I'm looking forward to doing it again.
  21. I think I'm going to sign up for an adult bike riding lesson next month. I've clearly forgotten what I learned so long ago since I'm about as graceful as a baby deer right now.
  22. Not sure this belongs in the awesome thread... . I had no idea.
  23. Great pics, JJ! And holy moly, that's a lot of time in the saddle.
