  1. What's gotten into you lately? Viagra?
  2. So you're advocating for the Sabres to increase ticket prices to hit that revenue mark?
  3. Just watched. Best game in a month. Shame they lost. No way we send UPL back.
  4. Did they send UPL down? I can't watch live anyway. Have a thing tonight.
  5. Yes, I get that. We're all exhausted. But it doesn't happen instantly. The current regime is working their plan. It's a slow plan. We are the ground floor right now. Fans said they understood back in September. In December, mired in a losing stretch, we want to blow everything up. And I hope everyone realizes that Buffalo is not a market any major league wants to be in. The teams that are here are grandfathered. Lose them and they are never going to be replaced. So think twice when you wish for new ownership. Especially when these franchises are worth at least double elsewhere.
  6. You imply that how good a team is, is merely the product of how much the owner wants it to happen. Kind of like "The Secret." And in Buffalo specifically, spending $700MM on an expansion team, plus how much you need to build an actual team, will return you $100 billion if the team is good enough? Do I have the math right?
  7. How about "Buffalo Americans?" If the Sabres left that's all Buffalo could hope for, an AHL team. The NHL would be done with us.
  8. That's value. They are operating at a huge loss. Which I guess is fine if you plan to sell eventually. Not so good if you are committed to owning the team. And don't cheer for selling the team. You really don't want that. You could own a house. You paid $100K. Now worth $500K. But it cost you big every year. So you're paper rich but really flat broke.
  9. Okay, who's got $700+ mil just for the fee?
  10. Well we need to put a call out to any billionaire with local ties who likes hockey (or not) and is willing to lose millions every year until who knows?
  11. Sabres are worth over a billion in GTA or Quebec City, $800-900 mil in Houston. And move? Who'd want to step in and keep the Sabres in Buffalo right now? As a hockey market it's a basket case right now with the border semi-closed.
  12. He was solid. But he also didn't face any really dangerous chances. I guess the good news is the Sabres players better D. (Though it could also be due to the Ducks being tired.) The bad news is Stolarz, the Ducks goalie, was even better he shut the Sabres out
  13. They are having a bad night on offense, but a surprisingly decent defensive game. UPL looks confident making saves but he hasn't had to face a breakaway.
  14. That's gonna be a social media viral goal. They went going to overturn it.
  15. When you watch tonight, pay close attention to how a turnover, bad pass or blocked shot etc. will trigger a rush and extended possession in our end. Then see how long it takes us to regain possession and get out of our end, assuming a goal isn't given up before that can happen. Now compare how often we do that to the other guys and how easily they can exit their zone.
  16. That's the hope. But I wonder if outcomes are steered to achieve certain attractive matchups.
  17. They reached the conference final last year. Did that disappoint you?
  18. Not only is it addictive, but it's only a matter of time before we find out about games being rigged by players or refs betting on games. Even leagues massaging outcomes. It's the beginning of the end IMO. That said, I do enjoy dropping $10-20 on the odd game. I hate to admit it but I had such a bad feeling about the Bills I put a small wager on the Pats last night.
  19. A perfect opportunity to make folks forget about Monday night.
  20. How do you explain it? Bad luck?
  21. Sorry I asked then. But I think this is one of those cases where analytics obscure what's actually happening in the ice. Goaltenders are not miracle workers. If you can't defend your end no goalie will help you win
  22. Sorry. Not buying it. I know what I see. Too many guys left open while we're chasing our tails in our own end. Swap goalies all you want. Nothing significantly changes until you fix the D, unless you're good with losing 4 or 5-2 instead of 6-2.
