In a decade full of lows, we are approaching Sabrepede status.

Getting ready to watch the Dalton Smithless Amerks take on the UTI (as long as they abbreviate it that way, I can't help myself).

It's turning into the WWE or whatever is popular with the kids these days. Unlike some of my adult coworkers, I haven't followed Rastlin since I was a preteen. Then I discovered boobs.

He will be missed but the Amerks actually have plenty of grit to overcome it. They still have guys that do the things that Smith does. Randall, Cornel, Borgen, MacWilliam, Malone, Wilson, Ellie. They are the polar opposite of the Sabres, almost all grit, limited skill players. The improvement of the health of CJ Smith, Tyler Leier and Remi Ellie has added to the skill department.

The only thing I don't like about this move is the shadow it casts on the organization. It's like they ran home after getting bullied and cried to their much older, still living at home brother, to come fix things in elementary school. If the Sabres wanted to add toughness, it should have been done in the off-season as a move to address a missing ingredient from last season. Now it just looks like the floundering of a hapless GM. That said, I will root for this kid harder than I've rooted for any Sabre in a while. Maybe since Corey Tropp.

We certainly know it's not the teams biggest issue but how JBOT has failed to add a tiny bit of sandpaper to this roster is annoying. The fans care just as much about hitting and fighting as they do scoring so give em what they want. At least GMTM got Kane and BOGO for that purpose. Would it have killed him to bring anyone in this capacity?

Why not call up Borgen as well? At least he can actually play and might get one of these disasters we have playing D off the ice.

I love the phonetic spelling of JBOT's surname. I still think everyone is pronouncing it wrong but I don't want to go all Mike Schopp on your *****. Penciling him as 2C really derailed his career and the Sabres last two seasons. He should have been in Rochester from the start of last season. Now we are ready to throw him away.

I certainly carried the anti Kovi flag proud and high. He was a POS, is a POS and will always be a POS. Now Patty Kane is a different kind of POS but I wouldn't quesiton his on ice actions the way Kovalchuk's should be. Not only does he completely bail on his team at the drop of a hat, he also only tries when he feels like it providing an even worse position than just be a deserter. Kovalchuk was the origin of the Sabrespace lore.

and Duke Williams proving he can't be counted on. and McDermott proving he still doesn't understand how to evaluate offensive talent with Yeldon and Sweeney both looking like they should have gotten 30-40 touches this season.
