It’s not going to be for Olofsson and a 2024 1st
-
These are the reactions I was expecting. I don’t want to give up these assets either but these fairy tale proposals where we just offer assets we don’t really care about (ie. Mittlestadt, Olofsson, Östlund, draft picks down the road, Rosen) are mind numbing. At least one of the things going to SJ will hurt. Whether it’s Quinn, Peterka, this years 1st, Kulich, or Savoie. One of them has to be included unless the SJ GM is a puddle of poo.

Nice flow. I’m mad jelly. -
If I’m SJ, I’m asking for this years 1st, Jack Quinn and Juri Kulich
-
This does not surprise me

A team that has 4 other 40 goal scorers? At least that’s what I envision when they make a move. They won’t be able to pay everyone…soon
-
Some of the commentary can get a little interesting. “The Sabres are repeatedly beating the D tonight” ”They are penetrating the O zone by getting in deep, and taking the body” ”Tuch slides one into the 5 hole” ”It takes courage to go into the high danger areas, sacrificing personal safety for a chance to score.”
-
At some point they will probably need to trade VO. Or let him walk. If I’m KA, once Kulich or Quinn appear ready to take on that role, I move him for what will be an asset for replenishment for the players we move on from.

I’m not sure I like any of the coaches or MGMT at one Bills drive but after a player died in the field during a game, this team has a built in “excuse”, if anyone wants to use that term in association with death. I could never tell what Dorsey was trying to accomplish. It never felt like the offense got in synch. Frazier is a good D coordinator. I’m not sure the Bills have the horses to run what he wants to, especially without Hyde and half a Poyer.

So my fam got me a Sabres calendar for Christmas. Here is today’s trivia: Why didn’t they save this for tomorrow?
-
They won 13 games. Just saying.
-
Casey has been a serviceable player for the last month. He still makes glaring mistakes but they seem to be less egregious than previously.
-
Huh. Didn’t think this was in the fold.

Finally got around to listening to post game. They need to put Paul Hamilton out of his misery. He just whines and complains the whole time. Barely has any insight and often misses big story lines. -

To be fair, every defenseman in the NHL was better than Dahlin his first couple of seasons. -
Well they haven’t started trading their players that they can’t afford yet so let’s give ‘em some time
-
Which, if played properly, can lead to a continuous recycling of young talented players through trading players you can no longer afford. Obviously drafting takes on a large role but if the recent trend continues, I like their chances.

I’ve been giving this some thought. It was never going to be easy for Buffalo. I think Josh’s career will be him chasing Mahomes, Burrow, Lawrence & Herbert. Maybe a couple of other QBs coming into the league the next couple of years. Maybe the Bills get lucky and grab a chip but I don’t like the odds. That wouldn’t be the standard, for anything ever.
