They just they're going to interview Jim Hofford during intermission. Said before the Amerks he never heard of Rochester. He's never left, makes it his home, lol.

My father in law is good buds with Jim.  I also worked with him back in the malls in the 90s.

Just took a roughing penalty too. I pray to God he gets a full year in Roch. Buffalo will castrate him within a month.

With him and Novikov in the org, they finally have some players with size that use it.  But they can’t be expected to lead the way in that regard.  They need players like Tkachuk & Trouba.  Physical players that lead and other teams are leery of.  The team also needs players that can drop the gloves.  I’m not talking about Reeves or any one dimensional goons.  Power forwards that stick up for teammates. Dmen that pounce on you if you look at the goalie sideways.   Almost every good team has players like this.  Buffalo does not.

Wow, the name calling, complaining, vulgarity, becuase a HOCKEY team we follow is losing?  Fire people!  Swearing in comments (or wanting to) so ***** must be used, Players and the team 'sucks ass', guys are 'useless' or 'wastes of space'. Really?   I think all of us want this team to win, but does being so negative, so full of hate and vitriol at a hockey team and needing to express it that way make all of you feel better?

The ignore feature is your friend.  I think mine is near 30 people.

Good news.  Donny still has an ace up his sleeve.    You can't always go to Levi.... wait , what?  They sent him back to the Amerks while the Sabres were still alive ??! lol

And that's that for the season.

Season has been over since Christmas.  I don’t know why it’s taking everyone so long to figure it out.

It would be an amazing story if they win out and somehow get in

Wonder if they would sell out in for the playoffs and keep the visitors out of their crib?

I can’t believe I typed that last sentence.

The Amerks, in a smaller city with a much smaller following, averaged 50% capacity in the regular season for a while now.  They sold out every playoff game.  This isn’t even a conversation.

Most likely 3 - 5points, can't see us winning all 5 games anymore.

It doesn’t matter.  Every other team not named Tampa has 2 games in hand.

On the larger topic of sticks breaking though, why does the NHL and its owners and players accept this? I can’t think of an equivalent in the other major team sports. I’ve seen now dozens of examples of an NHL player’s stick breaking, often at an inopportune moment, with seemingly little to no force being placed on the stick. It would be like baseball gloves occasionally just having the pocket blow out when outfielders go to make a routine catch on a fly ball. It’s just odd to me that this has become something that could happen in the biggest moment of a game and the hockey world has shrugged its shoulders with acceptance.

    General thoughts:

    * Realized tonight how much better this team would have been with a healthy Jack Quinn all year

    * UPL has absolutely stablized things in net and great to see UPL bounce back after a couple of rough outings

    * Tage looking more like Tage, those inuries lingered for awhile and now we see what he can really do again.

    * Was nice to see Granato take a timeout at a good time, laid into these guys when they needed it, maybe this is a step in the right direction for Donny, we shall see.

The lack of the dreaded 'loser points' OTL and shootouts, coupled with just a few small things, kept us out of the playoffs this year.

    Better days ahead.

If I make it that long.
