I think his brother’s trade may be a good comp.
Huberdeau = Tage or Cozens
Weegar = Power or Dahlin
plus a prospect and a pick.
Maybe we’ve been undervaluing Brady. 😀
I don’t care about heavy weight fighters. They don’t impact the game. The Sabres need more guys that can play hockey and answer the bell if needed. This NYR kid is blazing a trail. Not sure it’s going to be lit for long.
They didn’t go away, they are just on the brink of extinction. Fighting is fine. The league just doesn’t need a designated fighter role. It serves little purpose other than satisfying the blood thirsty fans.
I would trade any player on the roster or in the pipeline for him. Probably multiple.
It would take roster players to acquire a player of this ilk. Power maybe? I’d move him of Dahlin is a second for any Tkachuk.
This makes two assumptions:
a) he thinks there is something wrong with the roster
b) he is actually going to do something about it.
I don’t think it’s safe to assume either
May didn’t fight all takers like Ray but he was vicious…and dirty. I’ll always remember when he sucker punched Derek Plante in front of the net when he played for the Nucks. It was filthy. Both in dirtiness and viciousness. Brad was massive, his hand looked like meaty tennis rackets. I wish the Sabres had someone with 1/10th of Brad’s Chutzpah.
