  1. Hope so .. love his intensity ... don't want him wallowing in Marchand Mud. Marchand gets Lehner riled, point Marchand ... innit*? * my first use of innit, a web phrase I've admired.
  2. At 845. One unit, Buffalo, at +145.
  3. Stan Lee and Luke!
  4. I am unraveling. Each week, I look at five RBs and WRs, all middling, and try to find best options. I have, twice. Russell Wilson too early as QBs came off the board ... enough said.
  5. I'll have to Google. It sure WAS a mess.
  6. Janet Reno died. I admit I don't have strong views of her performance one way or the other. Maybe that's a compliment to an AG. In other words, quiet competence in administering justice is something to be proud of. She was criticized for Waco, although I don't remember getting too worked up about her role. After all, what could end well, there? She was, in my memory, as uninvolved with the various political scandals as someone in her role possibly could. Accordingly, special prosecutors worked outside the influence of elected interests as far as they possibly could. Distasteful at the time, sure, but the good old days in hindsight. That's coming from me, the Constitutional Conservative. I did object to Elián González, although a scholar could remind me of the judicial reasoning and my mind may change. I do remember her as our first female AG. Further, she rose to the position without an observable charm or charisma. In short, I've painted her with the "on merit" brush. That's among my favorite brushes to use.
  7. Humanity ... what a share.
  8. There's a last place avatar!??!
  9. I ruled myself out as a candidate several decades ago!
  10. Good point ... No. Me and you.
  11. Your mother wears army pants ... Well, it's not my reaction to Watergate. I can't speak for others.
  12. All 23 years means to me is that she plays on the edge and has, for decades. It's not the kind of thing said of respected leaders of either party. I'm not sure of your point when you write that. There's a long list of criminals who were investigated for years. Not that I'm comparing her to the more well known. I'm simply saying the defense, as Shania Twain would say, "don't impress me much." It may not prove guilt, but when you're saying it as a defense while seeking the highest office in the land ... well.
  13. You remain the first man I'd choose for a bunkermate during wartime!
  14. I'll change your post slightly to reflect me. It went as far as it did based on evidence, thousands of pieces of evidence. It stopped on political grounds during conversations the hallways of Justice. I worry more about the institutions than the individuals.
  15. I think Comey's cooked regardless of the election outcome. He'll resign. I also don't think Obama will ask. Instead, he'll let circumstance do the work. President Obama has some exposure here, too. You've seen the reports of his email aliases and communication with Sec State. If I were Obama, I'd not rile Comey up with a public and embarrassing call for a resignation. Comey's toast. Obama will (and should) look the other way while Comey gasps his last.
  16. James Comey announced today that his review of additional email information, found during the investigation of a separate matter, doesn't change his July recommendation not to prosecute HRC. This follows, by nine days, his cryptic letter to Congress indicating this new information existed and would be reviewed in order to determine, a second time, if charges should be recommended. Where do I start. The good Mr. Eleven opined a few days ago that perhaps those critical of Comey in July owed the good Director an apology. I hope Eleven will understand my reluctance. I'm on record with my view that Comey blew his first bite at the apple. He punted while heading an agency with a sworn obligation to do the opposite. Comey was cowardly and wrong at the time, his "have it both ways" indicting press conference notwithstanding. He earned his criticism. As is often the case when you build a foundation on sand, marbles and ball bearings, things shift and you get unsteady. The related case information proved to be a puff of wind which caught the unsettled and precariously perched Director off guard. He teetered, and wrote to Congress, hoping to avoid a spill! Two wrongs, as they say, with the second made inevitable by the first. I double down on my criticism. Lest I be accused of being above the fray, a criticism I've seen but do not quite understand, let me dive face first into my partisan view before closing with fair and balanced. She broke the law, deliberately and seriously, and a tarnished DOJ and FBI looked the other way, likely for different reasons. There, one partisan sentence. I'm brief. Now, on to my nod to fairness. HRC, her team, and her supporters have every right to be furious. While Comey played his part in saving her bacon, he went totally off the reservation nine days ago. His toxic goulash of justice, duty, career, abdication and face saving cast a giant shadow over one candidate for nine of the race's final eleven days. He failed in character and competence, with the whole world watching, twice. HRC and the American people deserve better. He must go. I think the same should be said for AG Lynch.
  17. Non Partisan find of the day --- who's watched Weiner, the documentary? I just finished. Forgetting the party, it's an unreal look into politics, machinery, and the unique psyche that is a politician. Recommended .... who ARE these people?
  18. 845! Sheeesh ....
  19. I admit I enjoyed it and thought the game was losing some of the "play within the play" drama. As I've become more informed on the long term effects on the brain, I'm glad it's gone. The game's lost nothing important. Now, if we can just lose the fight after the legal hit nonsense .... I think, like you, I never bought into that justification. I always wanted the league to be honest and say "fighting sells tickets."
  20. Can you call a timeout after an icing if you're The ICEING team?
  21. I'm having flashbacks to Daniel Alfredsson ... and back in the day with a four minute power play or a one goal lead in the waning moments. Or a Spezza ....
  22. Slightly OT -- intermission shots show one pretty city.
  23. It's been a while. Being a racist bigot is time consuming. I'm sure you understand. No doubt the chorus hasn't missed my singular voice, especially in light of the fact that I don't sing from the same hymnal. The Claude criticism brought me back. There's nothing "intellectual or smarter" in Haidt. Nor is Haidt about being above the fray. I'd say tolerance and understanding are the primary objects. Self discovery sure can be uncomfortable. Well, the group has rejected Claude's offer of a respectful and thoughtful framework to discuss competing points of view. The group's also let Claude know how distasteful his occasional interjections are. Snooty twerp. How ironic, in light of the research and its aim. "And so it goes," as Vonnegut would say. At the risk of inducing the snickers of the uncomfortable, but fearing nothing born in my head and heart, I'll tell Claude I'm grateful for his insight. It's a thread highlight, I believe. The hymnal's been distributed. The chorus is full throated. Shhhhhh .... unless you're singing along!
  24. 715 ... oh, the shame. One Unit Buffalo
