  1. @735 .. 2 units blues @ -200
  2. AND ... I'm humping it with moves every week! Two points! The FF equivalent of the Electoral College ...
  3. If not just because you feel jobbed, then why? I think we have the appropriate vote for the union we formed. Are you suggesting a reorganization of government? What role would states serve, if any, after the re-org? What would it mean to be Kansas, or does that matter? You're entitled to your EC view. I'm suggesting the EC is a strand that unravels so much else. Have you thought it through? We had this very debate 230 years ago. Your post was anticipated! The framers would say it worked, not that it needs to go. I haven't seen anyone with reasoning beyond "cuz my candidate got jobbed", and there's thirty four boatloads of reasoning to be done when the EC is in play. Life gives us little tidbits. I don't have your concerns, but I admire your eyes and ears!
  4. Before I get into specifics, which would be precinct by precinct, I imagine, I'll give you my over riding view. I want every American to be able to vote, if he or she chooses to. I encourage every American to choose to vote. Voting is a matter of logistics. The sanctity of the vote and citizenship limits the vote to one per citizen. Any arguement so far? If not, I'll support any procedure, any logistic, that's practical and secure. Former AG Holder suggested weekend voting and/or a national holiday. Meritorious for discussion. You mention reduction of voter hours. I may be with you. What were they reduced from and to? From 7 am to 8 pm down to from 10 am to noon? I oppose. From 7/8 to 7/7? I'm not so sure. Logistics. 7 am to 8 pm is difficult for me, but I manage. I think we'll be roughly on the same page. I may require more personal accountability than you. Perhaps not. I'll give you the outrage you desire, or not, if you give me an example. I believe ID is reasonable. Purging names? Not necessarily, but I don't understand the rationale for the purge. Sounds suspicious. What do you suggest? The devil is in the details. Not knowing the details doesn't prove the devil. I voted in six minutes, ten days early. My daughter mailed her vote. The rest of my family voted on Election Day. There are thousands of precincts and hundreds of rules. I admit to having no grand outrage. I'll plead that I see no grand scheme. I'll consider whatever you describe.
  5. I'd have to know more about the 100s of polls closed. The article was from 2014. Vote suppression - I am opposed.
  6. Joe Biden would have. Bernie, I don't know. IMHAnalysis. Traditional Dem message without the baggage, yes. Socialist message without the baggage, I'm not so sure. Essentially good men, both. This was a "for fun" answer. I'm not hoping to persuade. Others?
  7. 23, across: "You can never have too many c_nt_rs."
  8. My questions are "help what?" and "make what happen?". I'm not outcome based. I'm not incentive based. If government clears obstacles and levels playing fields, legitimate goals of policy for all free men, I don't sweat the outcome. If discrimination prevents an outcome, or if incentives result in one that would otherwise not occur, I'm unhappy. Your post is dead on if we pre-suppose an outcome based on demographic percentages is best. I don't pre-suppose that. I am educable, although the required effort of others may be large!
  9. Now, find a wife! Great post and reply.
  10. I'll quote myself: "I'll say my view lies in the respectful inclusion of all and relies on no legislation of outcome. In short, diversity finds itself and is different every single moment." And I'll add: Before anyone thinks I live in a fantasy land of denial, I DO recognize the good of anti-discrimination laws which are unfortunately necessary and fortunately effective to an extent, if not completely effective.
  11. Thank you for the invitation. Your curiosity is boundless. This is good. Debating diversity isn't an interest of mine, really. It requires more work outside of the topic than a web blog allows for. I'll say my view lies in the respectful inclusion of all and relies on no legislation of outcome. In short, diversity finds itself and is different every single moment. Kansas is different when compared to California, even if Kansans are more demographically homogeneous. Hooray for both. Sometimes I want goulash, sometimes I want tomato soup. I'm glad I have both choices. I'm glad each dish is happy with itself. I'd ask neither require the other to change.
  12. Because it's been used and applied incorrectly for decades.
  13. As long as you recognize the value of summits! :lol:HEY ... I figured out emoticons! 3,486 posts!
  14. What I like is that it lets Kansas be Kansas, even though there are more people in California. Diversity!
  15. The Great Recession hit me with three poisoned darts right in the heart. I'll not go into detail, but think family savings, geography and career. Further, think UNIQUELY family savings, geography and career. I get it. You are correct regarding the magnitude and our memories are ok. My current circumstances bear the scars and I'll never recover the path I was on. I view the GR with no joy, with no dismissal of import, with no disregard for others. I view it as a necessarily terrible feature or characteristic of an organized system that works best for all over time. No debate or challenge to you. This is simply "light" shed on my circumstances and rationale. You may disagree with me even more when I say "I do remember, and I still choose."
  16. I like the Electoral College. It retains something good. It's weird, sort of, and genius, sort of. I am giving pastajoe a wide birth. His world's rearranging, He's giving us Pom Pom, sex doll, math, and Electoral College posts. Visual ... he's gone to the trunk in the attic, kneeled in and opened it (for the first time in years), and he's tossing stuff over his shoulders and about the room!
  17. Dear Bobis, Thank you for the post around facts and a view. I've asked for you. Love, Neo P.S. Why in heaven's sake did you choose two words that result in all of us, right and left, not remembering the nearly two hundred other words you wrote?
  18. I wasn't sure where to post this. It's a response to posts in many threads. Flagg - you are an informed poster who possesses the ability to communicate what you see on the ice. You are generous with your time and effort. I'm grateful for your insight and gifts. :). There, I used those words again! Now, there are others. There are many others! I come here for you all. To the learned!
  19. We need a summit of SabreSpacers! I don't want to argue and win web arguements, I want to hear you better. Today's post is inspired by SwampD and Sabres79, two most respected good dudes. You used language I use ... in an exactly opposite way! One of the reasons I voted for DT is that I am most fervently convinced things are not better than "when he took office". One of the reasons I vote Rep is the "anti intellectualism" of the left! I'm thinking of different viewpoints - not challenging your views. In short, "how can people see one thing so differently" instead of "you're wrong". * I'm laughing - In case this post sounds so, let me say that I'm not putting on my Haidt goggles as an exercise in responsible posting. I simply woke up and saw two back to back posts from thoughtful people and "I need to hear more" screamed at me. Maybe CV would say I am putting on those goggles.
  20. Taylor Hall with the hit on Risto ....
  21. It makes me realize just how terribly weak we were during the tank. Six quality players later, and we remain thin and vulnerable.
  22. Franson for Norris. Magic works.
  23. You know what I mean .... I'd submit that budget. And, there'd be 100s of articles in a week!
  24. Correct .. and "bad", to use a really complicated and sophisticated word!
