I am further constrained by a more reluctant attitude toward forcing change on those who do not want it. I'm not disagreeing. Using the word Progressive to unwind would be using the word differently than I do. I don't use the word that way. Regressive is a word I'm not yet settled on. I'm contemplating Vice President Pence from 30,000 feet. At this level, my ideas can be ephemeral. That's half the fun. I'm not aware of a President who's needed his VP for political success more than Trump needs Pence. Pence knows how the machine works procedurally. Trump has no idea. Pence knows how human coalitions are cobbled together. Trump knows only how human assets are deployed. Pence knows how co-equal and necessary branches of government work in tandem. Trump doesn't know what co-equal means. Pence may have leverage in forming an agenda to an extent that exceeds others in the same role. More to come, perhaps, as time passes ...
