The Democratic establishment may phrase it this way: "Bernie would have establishment support if he looked much better". I am not a mouthpiece for the Democratic establishment! Presented merely as a view from the other side of the coin. He is looking good to a large number of people, no doubt in my mind.

Made me think. I reserve the right to modify. At this point in time, my good government ranking (alphabetic within categories): Bush, Fiorina, Kasich, Rubio Biden/Jindal/Paul (toss up) Christie, Clinton Not interested Not sure what you mean. If you meant (sincere on my part) I should have included him from the point of view stemming from "best" or "good government", then no. If from registration and legitimate candidacy, then yes. Lastly, if his absence in my comment was curious because I mentioned all but him among Dems, it's because I made an HRC reference as an add on to a Joe B post only because I rate her more highly than a meaningful number of Repubs. She shares this with Joe B and that was a point I was making in the narrow post. I can't say I rate Sanders ahead of a meaningful number of Repubs, my personal respect and affection for him notwithstanding. I also left out O'Malley.

1). I'll cut him some slack, here. The role is more defined by the President than the VP. History is full of great men/women who considered the role but declined because of the inability to set agendas or lead except to the extent that it mirrors the president. Almost all VP candidates wrestled with the role's relevancy before accepting or declining. Best VP's of my lifetime? Mondale (an advisor) and Johnson (delivered an election). 2). Extemporaneous gaffes damage, but I assign less importance to them than others. I've giggled at Bidenisms, but came away feeling "that could've been anyone". Smooth oration is important, granted. It does not sway me, however. I cut GWB the same slack when he added syllables to words and paid more attention to the message. 3). I agree this is an issue. Some of his statements may be posturing while he gauges support. I'd have chosen another set of words. I'm thinking "my heart is in it, but I have to heal my family before deciding". 4). We'll see. He may have the Obama infrastructure with an endorsement, tacit or otherwise. The other side of the coin is the HRC infrastructure and its resiliency, should it be tested. Good government view (my own): I want the best candidates from each party to debate ideas with the best man/woman winning. At this point in time, Joe Biden gets my nod as his party's best. Best ignores electability for the purpose of that comment and instead refers only to ability to govern. I rate Joe B ahead of a number of Republicans in this regard. I rate HRC ahead of a number of Republicans, too. It's a much, much, smaller number, to no one's surprise.

Join me fighting the size and power of the state. It takes property, seizes wealth, and executes. What do you expect? You've fed it, deferred to it, and surrendered liberty to it. You wanted your Nanny. Well, she can get angry and spank, too. General use of "you", for the record. Death penalty ... obscene.

Game broadcast condensed into one hour. You get all the goals and a good portion of play, but not all 60 minutes. Think "very extended highlights ".

Anyone else reminded of 2004 Dean/Kerry conversations when discussing 2016 Sanders/Clinton? To my Dem friends - similar feel?

The WSJ didn't mention Sanders in this particular article, to the best of my recollection (recollection warning). I believe it has in others. The WSJ did reference HRC's electability in this particular article. She, too, had leads. They were just smaller than Biden's. Edit: Sanders, like others not named Clinton or Biden, is referenced in passing. His electability is not the subject of the article, however.

I agree with the source of votes. I think he may very well get in. Not certain, but not doubtful, IMHO. His strong polling versus Republicans could give an electable option to Dems considering leaving HRC. I have human interest in what a viable Biden allows the party and the President to do and say with regard to HRC without risking a general election victory. Human interest referring to inevitability and self inflicted wounds. Gross oversimplification: Careful what you wish for, GOP, ol' Joe does better against GOP (with specific poll examples) than HRC. Joe v Bush, Joe v Rubio, Joe v Trump all compared to HRC v Bush, etc.

I hope so ... sometimes they work, sometimes not ... The Man in the Arena (partisan warning) http://www.wsj.com/articles/an-unteachable-president-1443485444?mod=trending_now_1 GOP Risk - Biden polling. (Appears to be PW locked); I believe it unlocks soon. http://www.wsj.com/articles/wsj-poll-shows-risks-for-gop-clinton-support-wanes-1443474203

Two good WSJ articles, today. Joe B polling stronger against Republicans than HRC. Ominous development for her, although she leads Dem primary voters still. The other recalls The Man in the Arena. It's Op Ed, and definitely has a view. Partisan take warning.

Black Mass tonight. It was good. I'm a Depp fan and was not disappointed. Side note: Jeff Simon's reviews are as good as any I read in any newspaper.

Now THAT hits for the cycle with me! Accept vs. challenge, reality vs condition. I am currently playing all four words over in my mind. You make me think and give me clues to the ground under your feet when writing to us all.
