I'm imagining this sandpaper team with Lemieux in a season or two ...

McGinn and the 2 on 1 trio.

Foligno! Kane told him he needs to just shoot, and shoot, and shoot.

Premiums and deductibles cannot be going up. We were bending the cost curve down with policy, remember? Jonathan Gruber told us so, between giggles. I would like someone to pay for my new lawn mower and a tooth implant. I hope no faux-Christian type denies me access, which, of course, is the language I'm using to obfuscate the issue. PM me for my mailing address. You can send cash or check. Refuse, and I'll accuse you of a war on bald men. It's absurd, but appears to be effective.

First Risto then Myers ... I think both forwards would like a do over.

So, Jets broadcast said offside, Sabres said onside, linesman called onside, Sabres bench said offside, referees looked at a pocket pc for eleven minutes, NHL's loudest building went silent, I poured an ice tea, and nothing's changed. It's certainly worth the effort to bring clarity to ...zzZZzZZzzzZZ

Fascinating review ... I'm so glad the NHL .... zzzZZzZZZ zz

^if you're thinking of the play I am, he was well into a long shift ... Of course, that could be on him, too.

That's funny coming from the balanced, even tempered, you!

I love games in this arena, in front of these fans.

Your reply was to a gun control/NRA post. I make only two points - I don't recall a gun control initiative that got traction from the President when his party controlled both houses. If non-filibuster proof majorities, along with the Oval Office, prevent you from offering a policy agenda, I guess we can all go home. I do recall background check conversation. Excuse me while I giggle. I hear it wasn't brought to vote because the republicans threatened to toilette paper the White House. Can you and I agree on this? You can bring a bill to the floor if you've got one. Let the vote or filibuster take place. I didn't need to google. If gun control's his desire, he's failed. He's had majorities. It's always the other guy's fault. The Bills would be 16-0 except for those eight other teams. I'm a republican. If I'd heard a good idea, I'd have written my guys and told them to support it. All Presidents fail somewhere. All have their chorus blaming the other guys. Yawn. Majorities are a head start. I'm going to tell my boss, tomorrow, that I'm not going to make proposals to clients this year because other firms do business, too. I'll return when we have a monopoly. I hope I get a participation certificate. For two hundred years, the standard for success is accomplishment. It's easier with majorities. Our guy today? "Let's explain why he failed - I know, he didn't have every seat in the house". Now that'd be a good gig. I bet he'd get Rushmore. Offer: tell me DeLuca's "real gun legislation". I may agree. I may not. BRB, going to post in the Trade Ideas and Speculation thread that GMTM needs to trade for some 40 goal scorers and a Vezina candidate.

I completely agree. It is too late. I had a great lunch, once, with a semi-retired forensic CPA. Earlier in his carrier he'd worked with intelligence agencies. Think big clandestine types. Now, he does investigatory work, a lot online, supporting divorces, civil litigation, etc. He walked me through the ways he could build a detailed, factual, profile with data he finds online. It's a lot more than Google search, as I'm sure you know. Scary stuff. I said in jest "you need to have dinner with my family. I keep telling them about MySpace, Facebook, and the like. They don't get it". His reply? "They DO get it, Neo. You don't. They understand. They grew up in a world without the privacy you did. They don't care". Pass the chips .... Same page, by and large. He is certainly not all good nor all bad. He has that in common with ... oh, every President. You and I have mentioned this to one another before. ABA? Who knows the mechanics. I'm glad everyone has health care and I think he made it a very important national conversation. It's a tax. Some taxes are good. I agree 100% that "repeal without an alternative" is foolish political posturing that wastes time and inflames passions without policy.

My point, Joe, was that congress introduced no legislation to filibuster. We know what a filibuster is. Dems had the Presidency and congress and let those issues lie. It was a curious time. Plenty of legislation, in fact most legislation, takes place with non-filibuster proof majorities, My link showed how a bill is brought to the floor, before a filibuster threatens it. Are you saying the Dems had a majority, but took the session off? I don't recall any filibustered legislation. The Dems abdicated on gun control and immigration. If you talk about mandatory yearly inspections by a government, I will "scream big brother", regardless of how ridiculous you make it sound. If you describe processed meat in a tube, I will scream "hot dog". You lead your life of signing in, registering, counting, requesting permission, producing travel papers, producing bullet logs, acquiescing, serving and kowtowing. I don't need a Shepard. For your consideration, forgetting today's Dems and Repubs ... a hypothetical, if you will, for a great student. If "us" believes "them" is wrong, and if the People elected more "us" than them, wouldn't it be more representative government if "us" fought "them" at every turn? Your post requires the predicate "Obama's policies are good". Executive orders that keep National Parks opened or closed extra hours are efficient and fine. Executive order that legislate because it's impossible to get legislation through the people's house are not fine. Executive orders that legislate are extra constitutional. I hope that's not controversial. I'll let you decide if President Obama is legislating. Hint, he believes he is. Listen to his language, paraphrased by me as "I'm doing it because Congress won't". This makes me uncomfortable regardless of party. I'll check in a few years from now, if there's a President Cruz, and observe the tolerance for Executive orders. Just think what the government could learn if it tracked other legal activity ....wouldn't that be great! It could track where I go, when I sleep, what I buy, who I visit and learn learn, learn. It could save lives by tracking guns .. and cigarettes, and booze, and fatty food ... and sedentary lifestyles .... Hell, with a single payer system, it would make sense to track food and require exercise. I am excited by the advance of technology and our coming ability to track, monitor, legislate, control, and keep safe and make happy. Tracking by Washington! Utopia is here .... Someday, we'll have a beer and I'll tell you about life before chips in our forearms. It was crazy, man, crazy ... we on,y had four television stations! I have to go, now. I'm looking for my mandatory shower helmet. I heard 37 people suffered head injuries in showers during the last hygiene tracking period.

Allow me to repeat - background checks, waiting periods, meaningfully demonstrated competency ... no problemo!

Good to meet you .... I watched the game on television with my grandmother, sitting on a family room sofa, in Blasdell ... I remember marking the score on my Sabres season calendar of scheduled blue (home) and gold (road) games. It hadn't been scheduled at printing. TWELVE, I wrote TWELVE.

pA ... Awesome memory ... I'd forgotten all about that!

I'd say it was pretty much how it was called, yes. You'll see a charging call against Korab at 33:40. That was a charge even then. But, yes, I'd say it was a pretty typical game. That particular Soviet team may have been more physical than some others. Notice Rico's sneering interview at the end. Canadians despised Soviet "machine" players and used the word as a dig. I'll let my Canadian brothers speak for themselves, but I think they resented struggling against Soviet all star teams that practiced together for months and years. Beating the Reds was big, very big.

Awesome, Brawndo ... A favorite sports memory of all time ... The link is very cool ... I think it'd be worthwhile for the younger among us to click and listen to the players announced and a few minutes of play ... and contrast the game day experience of the time as it compares to today. How about those gloves! I've watched more .... Crowd noise, and the voice of Milt Ellis. 1,2,3,4,5,6 ..... we want 7 No kiss cams, video boards, hip hop songs, ice girls, bloated fuzzy mascots .... just hockey, soda, popcorn, cheering .... dark hallways and steep rows of small seats

I will apologize to all. I have become a load. I am gratified, though, that the last couple of posts show we're on the same page, my inability to articulate notwithstanding. Flat rate for all is not my idea. Different flat rates on easily computed amounts is my idea. You have all been patient with me.
