A little less soloist, a little more choir voice! I'm here every day!

Bomb. I can listen and cheat, but I'm not. Your resourcefulness and effort deserve acknowledgment in the form of participation. Here it comes - grateful!

Find your level. It is, and will always be, beautiful.

I'm assuming you meant last October - same beef, even shakier ground. The language would be different at the margins, perhaps, and the wait argument even weaker. Perhaps so much so that an argument couldn't be made. The fundamental things, apply ... as time goes by. Sam. You did. I see this as being unpopular with independents and a general election cost for Republicans. It's early and I'm reacting. I have no predictive insight. I wrote that I was optimistic.

"Allows them to exist"? It sounds like they petitioned and we're granting them some accommodation. We built them. They exist because we choose them, want them, need them. Don't corporations exist because Human Beings form them among Human Beings? You speak like they're living animals who came looking for a favor. Aren't the profits, losses and responsibilities passed through, over some time, to owners and employees? Doesn't the huge amount of money belong to you and me? Where do corporations hang out? Would you even "have a society" if you didn't allow humans to organize and work? Corporations are not sentient. They exist for our convenience, don't they? Is there a corporation in the United States that citizens didn't sit down and draft, design and form? Aren't the corporations doing, every day, exactly what the citizens expect and demand? People like, me, my family, and my neighbors? Also, aren't all of the individuals who comprise corporations responsible in their different capacities to society? How are they different from The Boy Scouts, Churches, or the Elks? Do we also "allow" the Elks, Boy Scouts and Churches "to exist"? Who is "allowing" this and is there an application? My company is a group of people that organized a corporation. Isn't that allowed? If corporations are so bad, let's stop making them. The corporations won't know it. They're three ring binders on the shelves of law firms and agreements between human beings whether it's one, two or forty five thousand. Now, on the other hand, the people that own, work and shop with corporations WILL know if we stop allowing them. They'll know fast. Corporations exist because we find them convenient. They serve us. We, owners, employees, and clients "profit or benefit". If i'm wrong, let's just stop the incorporating foolishness and ..... well, I'm not sure how I finish that sentence ... just what WOULD we do? You wrote ... "We have a system whereby ....". I'd finish the sentence "human beings organized themselves around economic activity most efficiently, voluntarily, and for their own benefit". Anything else, let's publish our findings, get famous, and do away with this C - Corp balderdash. Everyone reading this is "the corporation" and plays a role in the organization. We allow nothing. We created. In my humble opinion and for your consideration, only .....

I offshore jobs. I own cars manufactured overseas, type on a MAC and an iPad, and watch television on Sony and Samsung. Almost all of my clothing's made overseas. I'm a patriot.

Interesting musing for me, over a beer, or wine, or bourbon .... It's almost an unsaid "accepted" in posts that socialism will left people from poverty. In short, we debate economic systems, each with its faults, merits and "givens", and this given is assigned to socialism. Kinder, gentler, more successful .... Not a debate, but very interesting. Living a generation or two is fascinating. Would this be a given, or would this be challenged .... US Capitalism's created more wealth more quickly for all classes of citizens than any other economic system in history. I've not "googled". What say you?

GOP lost in 2012. Advice and consent is what they've earned, nomination and pace isn't. A pissing match won't help the GOP. I do think, though, that we'll hear a lot of "goes around comes around" language regarding Senate rules changed by Senator Reid's majority regarding nominations and votes. You probably recall. I don't know the parliamentary details. Suffice it to say the Reid Senate changed some rules making obstruction easier after "200 years of precedent" and was warned of it coming back to bite. I'd research it, but I think the news is going to deliver it to us on a silver platter in the coming weeks. I suspect I'm mixing a situation or two. That's all applesauce. I've written my representatives and told them I expect deliberation on any nominee they're presented. I'm sure they're tickled pink hearing from me.

Wait, wait, wait ... I've not signed up for greater DISTRIBUTION, unless you're referring to the distribution that arises from earnings. In which case, carry on. Distribution vs. re-distribution, you might say. I am, however, for greater creation ... at the lowest, middle and highest levels. Id been quiet for so long, too ... I'm sorta with you on this one. The difference is degree.

I'm glad you laughed. I never know how good natured jokes will sound here!

If what I know about capitalism can fit in the palm of my hand compared to true experts, then what I know about socialism can fit in a fingertip. That said, I've always had a framework when considering the two. D4rk touched on a particular aspect or example. The framework centers on diversity. He gave a very specific example. I think America's great strength, our heartfelt yearning for more notwithstanding, is the diversity capitalism rewards. For centuries, that diversity manifested itself in economic thought and innovation. It may have been white men, but capitalism rewarded risk and innovation. Socialism is more, how do I say it, planned with regards to roles and outcomes. Here's to a steady, if frustratingly slow, diversity of participants. Now, I personally equate diversity of thought with choice and freedom, outcomes be what they may. That can leave me feeling lonely, here. But the result has me defending capitalism as a lifestyle choice and as an economic system that is most naturally human. You vote with every decision you make. I want my choices regardless of the role others see for me. You'll see this doesn't exclude teamwork. Enlightened self interest, and all that. To close a circle: D4rk asked of capitalism was a means or an end. I vaulted to K9's "means" out of the gate. I am moving to "end" inasmuch as it's the life full of choice and consequence without central planning. To me, this is the most naturally human "end". It's a bumpier ride. It gets all of us further. Not everyone is in the same seat. Re: Socialism ... I am NeoPhyte.

I made my stuff up .. "To the barricades, Enjolras!" ........ PS ... I read L v T. I have to read something like that more than once, however, before I digest it. Awesome .... TBPHD knows better than me, but I think the young HAVE turned out in the first two races. I understand it's typical to see this demographic as enthusiastic, but not necessarily reliable to "show up and vote". Good news for Ol' Bern, probably due to his efforts and message. Your signature's awesome.

I "represent" business and capital in many of my posts. What I hope is that my words aren't confused with not caring. I'd love minimum good stuff for all. I trip up on the "it ain't gonna work that way" part. I'm not an economist but I'm eyeball deep in the economy. I see the minimum wage as a feel good salve not because I like guys in top hats eating caviar, but because I've watched them make decisions. Make labor expensive and they'll work around it. The intended beneficiary becomes the victim. I'm not snickering and glad. When I talk minimum skills it's in order to provide bargaining leverage to the employee, not a critique of their accomplishments to date. It's the route I see as best for the employee. Minimum wage skill sets don't support families. Performing minimum skill tasks, even if you're a self starting PhD with thirty years of other experience, won't support a family. If minimum wages worked, the world would've figured it out centuries ago. Hell, it'd even benefit greedy owners. Corporations are cold. At the end of the day, though, they're us. My pension manager is represented in the board room saying "do not cut the dividend but introduce touch screens, instead". OK, that's not entirely true. I got an email about ten years ago freezing my pension forever. It made for a bad Friday afternoon about a week before Christmas. I fight on. I adapt. I'll help you to the best of my abilities. I'll succeed or fail. Humanity. I have been sarcastic. The sarcasm isn't directed at the human suffering. It's directed at the folly (my sense, you all have yours) of the solutions and at the misdirected blame. I am the corporation. I believe we all are.
