I had to reschedule something from Thursday to Friday evening, so I wouldn't have been able to go to the Preds game whether I wanted to try and jump through hoops or not. But, we were thinking of going down to Broadway later on but decided not to figuring it would be chaos. Turns out, people we know went and said there were only three people outside the arena watching on the big video screen.

FWIW, I was pretty happy with Nolan when Patty brought him here, but, if the milestone is the trade deadline, I wasn't too excited by him at that point. By the last game, I could live with him starting next season, but would have preferred someone better and multidimensional. So, I guess I'm happy the Sabres put themselves in a position to find a better coach. Same happened with Ruff. He seemed to be the right guy for a while, but the little things piled up and there weren't enough successes to counter the pile of little things. 16 years of little things in a pile is a lot to overcome.

I found myself pulling for Nashville, too. It's hard not to like Chicago, though. Would like to have watched the Ottawa game, but seeing the replay of Subban's fit in the tunnel was all I needed. Well, that and Flynn causing the GM to do a happy dance with his partner.

I think Murray summarizes the entire presser perfectly in the last 30 seconds or so. All of the people hating on Murray for this haven't SEEN this presser and that last 30 seconds. Murray wants to improve the team, and he means it. He didn't think keeping Nolan here was going to contribute to the scope of improvement he wants to see. What else is he supposed to do?

You think you were confused? I had no idea what I was doing until I read the username. I guess it's not as bad as someone outright stealing your avatar for other forums and Twitter, which has happened to me several times. Not saying Sabre26 stole anything from me here, of course. But, looks like one of us may have to back down and find another way to express our inner spirit.

Waiting for the replay of the presser, but when Murray was saying he wasn't going to throw Nolan under the bus for the media, he did say that "this is part of a bigger plan" or was it "bigger picture". I'm sure Murray already has a short, short list of replacements.
