They’re too content to simply be making a great living as NHL players. Winning and losing doesn’t matter. Oh, they enjoy winning when it happens, but they don’t loathe losing and until they hate losing and being called losers with every fiber of their beings, it’s just not going to be much of a concern for them.

^This. I’m sure this will meet with overwhelming disagreement, but a game has never been decided by a single play. Ever. Single scores, yes, but never single plays. We tend to ignore that because the vast majority of games aren’t decided until late in the 4th quarter. But there were 60 other plays by each team that occurred before then to reach that point. Ironically, I has this discussion last year after we beat the Chiefs at Arrowhead. People point to the TD pass to Knox that put us ahead as winning the game for us, but Elam’s interception in the endzone long before that in the first half was every bit as important to the outcome.

I believe we’ve split the two games with Boston so far this season with each team winning on the other’s home ice.

I think it’s because offside is not a procedure infraction like false starts, illegal motion, etc.

Am I correct in reading this as DC being 4.4 goals behind where he should be to this point in the season? If so, a few games with better puck luck and he’s right back on pace. I’d be more worried if he wasn’t getting the opportunities in the first place. Something tells me when they start going in, the floodgates will open and he’ll start scoring in bunches.

For what it’s worth, the NFL has it listed as “offensive offside.” Edit: Please disregard as I now realize you weren’t referring to the Toney play on Sunday.

Point of clarity: you can have as many players on the LOS as you want, but you need a minimum of seven. Although lining up 11 makes absolutely no sense and you’d render most of them ineligible as receivers as only the two at the ends would be eligible. Your point about formation is a good one as WRs often check to see if they’re covering/uncovering an end man as required or not as well as checking if they’re onside. It’s funny that you say “Am I good” as I’ve heard exactly that several times while being within earshot on the sidelines in the past.

I won’t be surprised if they lose out the rest of year. Late season swoons are nothing new to that team. Last year they went 8-3 before finishing at 9-8.

Given how many times Allen and the offense have left the field with the lead in the final two minutes only to see the defense wilt and give it up, I never feel comfortable. Bills fans are like Pavlov’s dog in that regard.

I, too, have a deep respect for KO. But at this point I think that ornament moves better than he does on the ice.

His lack of accountability in his post Philly game remarks also had me shaking my head. Lamenting missed opportunities by an offense that put up 34 points, on the road, in inclement weather, in a hostile environment, while your defense gives up 37 points and once again craps the bed in clutch time is very telling. I could understand if some players on offense feel like he doesn’t have their backs.

There’s a difference between attacking free speech and being disappointed in the exercise of it.

Given their overall problems on defense all season and knowing full well the forwards are a big part of the problem, I really don’t have many positive things to say about Stillman or the other Amerks’ D men. I’d say he’s just a mediocre AHL defenseman on a team full of poor to mediocre defensemen. He has his moments but they are few and far between.
