I’m sure there will be no shortage of rabid fans to replace those of us that don’t give a crap anymore. And good for them as I honestly hope they see the success we’ve wanted to see and enjoy the ride along the way. Ultimately, it’s about the journey which is the only reason I’ve stuck around this long. But until recently, I’ve never felt intentionally lied to and played for a sucker. Getting off the ride has been a liberating experience and I won’t regret it one bit.

Apathy is the right word for it and it’s a lot worse than simply being angry. Anger you can fix but apathy means crossing the threshold into simply not giving a crap one way or the other and that is much a more difficult challenge for Pegula to correct. And I’ve been there since the second time they blew a three or four goal lead (I forget exactly) vs. Colorado. I know at least a dozen ST holders who feel the same way and they aren’t coming back, either.

Dems need to grow a pair and stop being afraid of losing the middle. We’ve been pulled so far to the right over the last 45 years, there is no middle anymore, anyway. For crissakes, republicans like Goldwater, Nixon, Kemp, Dole, etc. would be considered left of center nowadays. Dems need to show the far right what a far left really looks like and propose policies that reflect what people actually demand of their government. Old school Dems simply have to go.

The new stadium overages have been offset and then some by the equity sale of the Bills alone and Pegula doesn’t need a dime of Sabres money to meet his cost overrun obligations for the new stadium. I think he simply doesn’t give a crap about the Sabres, simple as that.

UPL is a 25-30 game backup NHL goalie. He is capable of hot streaks but also capable of cold streaks. He lacks stamina to be a full time starter and I attribute his poor mechanics on fatigue due to overuse. This idea that he is simply a victim of the poor play in front of him is just an excuse. Yes, the play in front of him outright sucks and we need better players, but two things can be true at once: our defensive play sucks and UPL isn’t good enough, either. Just not enough key saves vs. wide open looks at opposing shooters. And his lateral movement is a liability as well. We need a bonafide NHL starter between the pipes and Levi ain’t ready yet and needs another full year in the A, imo.

Indeed, they have always been what makes our disagreements manageable. What’s changed is that a certain faction no longer believes that we shouldn’t have a convicted felon and sexual abuser hold the highest office in the land; a person who conspired to defraud the United States and disenfranchise 81 million voters. A person who fomented an insurrection. Integrity was the bare minimum requirement for the office, regardless of our differing opinions on what else matters, but no longer. On another note, a dictator is ALWAYS a bad thing in our representative republic democracy. Indeed, dictators are antithetical to that very idea of our Constitution.
