Interesting that the talks with the Sharks were initiated by Babcock. http://www.csnbayarea.com/sharks/report-sharks-speak-babcock-week GO SABRES!!!

You shouldn't watch Ryan O'Reilly once, Johnny. My mother watched Ryan O'Reilly once. Once.

Sweet! Much appreciated. GO SABRES!!!

I've been wanting ROR for a while. I think it's gonna cost us Grigo, Zadorov, and our other 1st for openers. And I'd do it. GO SABRES!!!

In the first game vs. Russia, Eichel flat out dominated Malkin. As in, KICKED HIS ASS. If there was one thing I was hoping to see from Eichel more than anything else in this tourney, it was that the game wasn't gonna be too big for him. He answered that question in spades. He proved he can skate with these guys, he proved he can win puck battles, and he proved he can hold onto the puck and make plays. He's ready for the next level. Period. GO SABRES!!!

Is NBCSN gonna show the bronze medal game? I wouldn't mind one more look at our next #1 center before camp. GO SABRES!!!

This has been my observation as well throughout the entire tourney. Our guys have wheels and can skate with anybody in the tourney and, like the first time we played them, Russia tends to get frustrated as you said. We are playing with house money at this point as nobody expected these kids to be where they are. GO SABRES!!!

I've only caught the last 5 minutes of the second and if what the Canadian TV announcers are saying is true, then Eichel and the USA are giving Russia all they can handle and more. Based on that 5 minutes of play, I'd agree as the USA controlled play for that portion. But if they gave up 20 shots in the first period, then how can the announcers be right? GO SABRES!!!
-
So much for that. GO SABRES!!!

Agree entirely. GO SABRES!!!

The potential for them to press a lawsuit evaporated the minute they posted their 20k word diatribe of a response to the Wells report. Nobody thinking about bringing a lawsuit outlines their entire case online for everyone to analyze. It's too bad, too because I was hoping they would be dumb enough to bring a lawsuit against the league. GO BILLS!!!

He looks very solid in net. I think the Jets gave us the wrong goalie in the Myers/Stafford deal. It's not to late to correct that so feel free to send him our way. GO SABRES!!!

Flat about sums it up best for Eichel today as it does for just about the entire team. Tough day at the dot, especially, for JE. Certainly no major gaffes, either. Players have days like today and I've been expecting to see just such a game. It's a great opportunity to see how he rebounds, which is perhaps THE most important aspect in a player's development. GO SABRES!!!

Quite the contrary. I think Murray would just be getting started with Babcock and Eichel. GO SABRES!!!

That sight is full of interesting stuff from Buffalo39. He goes on to report that Eichel's girlfriend goes to BU, she's from Buffalo, and that Eichel has already told the Sabres he's not going back to college. Also, the night of the lottery, Eichel was with family and they let out a huge cheer when Buffalo ended up not picking #1. Who knows if there's any credence to any of that, but apparently this guy called the Kane trade the day before it went down. GO SABRES!!!

Someone with the handle, "Buffalo39", at HockeyBuzz is reporting that Babcock to Buffalo is a done deal at $6m per year. Apparently he's been right about a couple deals in the past so who knows. http://www.hockeybuzz.com/boards/thread.php?thread_id=126440&page=4 GO SABRES!!!

Faceoff is at 9:15 am EDT with coverage starting at 9. It's listed on the program guide for NBCSN tomorrow at 9. Just programmed my DVR. GO SABRES!!!

Weber's role should be 7th defenseman who dresses occasionally but sees most of the games from the press box. We have enough toughness on the back end that we won't miss his on a game to game basis. I'm glad he's a tough guy and will play until he bleeds, but he's a liability on the ice more often than not, regardless of the amount of minutes he plays. GO SABRES!!!
-
That is squarely on the fans and the fans only. Perhaps the Sabres gambled on the loyalty and intelligence of their fan base to understand that rebuilding from scratch and securing top picks in consecutive drafts was a strategy they could get behind. Given the number of tickets sold, I'd say they were right. Given the number of renewals at increased ticket prices, I'd say that fan base has voted solidly in their favor. GO SABRES!!!

I think Oreo gets shipped off to Colorodo as part of a package for O'Reilly. GO SABRES!!!

^This! And unlike that old core, I get the feeling that Eichel and Reinhart, especially, won't be shy about accepting the mantel when it's their turn. Add Girgensens to the mix and we have a nice group of leaders on this team for a long time. Vanek and Co. collectively didn't possess the hockey character necessary to assume the reigns when Drury and Briere left. Not even close. GO SABRES!!!

I know the play you're referencing and it was a major-league play born out of hustle, speed, and hockey smarts. If I didn't know the kid was only 18, I wouldn't believe it if you told me. Where did he develop this kind of game? GO SABRES!!! Thanks for this.
-
Much appreciated gents. Can't make up my mind which play I like more. All I know is this kid has a great brick and mortar game as he does all the little things well and it's plain to see how his confidence has grown throughout the tourney. Whenever his line is on the ice, they tend to control the play. I have to believe this experience is gonna fill him with confidence heading into his first pro camp. GO SABRES!!!

Well that "baby" is gonna be the strongest forward on our team the minute he walks in the door and I'd bet he can give Bogo a run for his money in the weightroom, too. GO SABRES!!!
