    The important takeaway is that the rest of the Player Performance department was retained. In looking at the description of Finlay's career in that article, he strikes me as a job-hopper. And that eclectic resume suggests he has no clue about a hockey culture. GO SABRES!!!

    I can respect Shushnikov's game. There's a difference between playing with grit and being a douche on the ice. Kadri has vinegar and water in his veins. He should be a poster boy for Massengill.

    Interesting point about the possibility of showcasing Girgs for a trade down the road. I imagine he was desired in many of the trade talks GMTM has had. GO SABRES!!!

    Is it possible that Kane has never enjoyed this level of surrounding talent on a line since he's been in the league? If so, I think a certain level of adjustment was/is necessary and that at the young age of 24 he can develop aspects of his game previously unable to be tapped. GO SABRES!!!

    I thought I was joking, too. But then I saw the line combos as practice today and Kane was back with ROR with DeLo on the wing. DD had Girgs skating with Eichel/Reinhart, which I wouldn't have a problem with, but doesn't DD believe in keeping a hot line intact as least until they've cooled off? GO SABRES!!!

    What makes it so effective is that it's really the only line we can cobble together that is a consistent offensive threat and they've been seeing the opponent's best checking lines as a result more often than not. Losing O'Reilly has put all the emphasis on that line to match up. As a result, I fully expect DD to break them up as soon as ROR returns. GO SABRES!!!

    Great pickup for the Jest. And I think Fitz would be just what the doctor ordered for Denver. Right up until he rips their hearts out with a late 4th quarter pick that destroys their playoff hopes.

    We have a bingo! I just can't get upset with Kane's total lack of hockey sense. I think he is our best forechecker EVER. As in our entire HISTORY. And yeah, I've been here since Punch spun the wheel. I'm hoping Kane, still young at 24, may still develop and be the beneficiary of the best line talent he's ever played with. GO BILLS!!!

    I love the nods to 'Breaking Bad'. Krazy 8 at the meet wearing his father's furniture store shirt was a nod to one of most important BB scenes.

    Good take here. As frustrated as I was with how they came out vs Toronto, particularly Eichel, I was that much more impressed with them tonight. GO SABRES!!!

    Me, too. Yesterday morning I heard he was asking for $7m per over four years. I think his agent made some calls to gauge interest and came back to reality for a 33 year old G. And I thought for sure the Osemele deal with Oakland today was gonna impact his number as well. Guess he really wanted to stay here after all. GO BILLS!!!
