  1. Helpful for all of us, not just Trump supporters.
  2. No worries, junior. I wasn't offended in the least and I was actually on the same page regarding the idea that they are going to explode. But there are plenty of videos and photographs already showing their explosions. I think I'll be doing them a service by holding up a mirror so that they can actually see themselves doing it in real time.
  3. Instead of a camera, I'll bring a mirror.
  4. Except that you, Mitt, and everyone else who went off the rails over the "You didn't build that" quote were never content to stop at "duh" even well after the context of that speech was put to bed. One of Obama's more clumsy deliveries to be sure, but he never came close to telling Joe the Plummer he didnt build anything. Any objective analysis of that speech confirms that.
  5. That is some powerful testimony. It will be interesting to hear Trump's response.
  6. True, that. Since more moderates were seated in government after their most recent elections and the sanctions lifted, European and Asian investors have been beating a path to Iran and the hope is that this much needed, huge investment will sway the mullahs to not act in ways that could jeopardize this new era of partnerships. And as I said, US investors won't be left in the dust for long. Of course we are also playing the long game with Iran. Like it or not, they are an ally in the fight against ISIS in the entire region. I understand how distasteful many Americans find that, but it's a reality none the less. I think this is a critical time in world history as Whiskey pointed on in his great post last night.
  7. The $400m dollars that was owed and paid back to Iran is more likely to go towards the purchase of much needed medicines and medical equipment which have been in short supply for years there. With sanctions lifted and Iran looking to rejoin the world economy on a larger scale, it is only a matter of time before major US investors in oil, gas, etc., start flooding Iran with billions of dollars now that France and other European nations have begun to do so. Is every American dollar invested there going to have the same "they will use it to sponsor terrorism" stigma as the infamous $400m?
  8. Their socks.
  9. Why 4X more liberals polled than conservatives?
  10. Ergo, LaConjecture.
  11. In the short term, yes. More importantly, it provides incentive for Gilmore to sign sooner vs later as the tag is free to use on him and that amount is farther south of the Josh Norman money he is looking for than what the Bills would give him on a new deal.
  12. Jason LaConjecture as he is referred to by 26CornerBlitz over at TBD.
  13. That is because you have a face made for radio.
  14. Yeah, those good people. There are decent folks who are for Trump just like there are some a-holes for Hillary (look for that slogan on a T shirt soon). Point is, that crap needs to be strongly condemned, regardless.
  15. Has anyone seen the NYT video of various attendees at Trump rallies they posted yesterday? Sad and disgusting. Trump and his more moderate base have to come out and strongly condemn this kind of behavior. This is giving many good people a bad name. Does anyone know if there is similar footage of Clinton rally attendees? If anyone attending her rallies is behaving like this, she needs to strongly publicly condemn their actions as well.
  16. That was a joke.
  17. Yeah, we went to different schools together. But I'm your elder by two years and I expect you to respect that.
  18. The elephant? So you're saying if we only appeal to the GOP things will improve. Nice. Disclaimer: that was a joke. Seriously though, if we can better understand our own motivations, chances to improve bipartisan relations grow. And I appreciate Hajdt's efforts to point that out. I do have a bone to pick with him though, and that is he could do a better job of presenting his data. I suspect that is is own conservative bias at play, so I can forgive that.
  19. Great read. Thanks for the link. They touched upon the explosion and impact of mass media and I would add that doing away with media ownership regulations and the Fairness Doctrine in the 80s was a huge contributing factor. A lot of crap hit the fan in that decade.
  20. Well now, vitriol is as old as the human race and no era can claim superiority in that department. But the electronic age and the speed of messages sent, received, and responded to, makes present day challenges of discord far more challenging. I'll leave it at that.
  21. In my best Hedley Lamarr: "Kinkeeeey"
  22. When you say "differently", do you mean standing up?
  23. No doubt we've had periods of polarization previously. But the 24/7 news industry, the internet, the explosion of mass media producers, social media, and cultural evolutions both here and abroad, have radically changed the playing field compared to other times in history.
