I think more folks around here would be far less interested in Eichel currently if he hadn’t decided to be such a prick towards the fans in the post game interview after his return. There are right ways and wrong ways to address booing fans, he chose the wrong way, and in doing so brought this derision upon himself.

Watching that last PP I got the impression that burning two minutes was more important than actually attempting to score.

Good point. The Panthers possess the puck with a ton of confidence in where each other player is, regardless which line is out there. They’re a machine. Whereas the Sabres don’t yet have that confidence from every line. Tentative is a good word to describe it.

The gap between the Sabres and elite teams is on full display today. Lucky to only be down one. And some of our better players need to decide to wake up and actually play because going thru the motions isn’t acceptable.

Good call on the JJ/Stutzle angle. They were virtually the entire German team at the U20 a couple years ago. Both had good tournaments.

Sabres look like they got caught up in the emotion of the moment so it’s not a surprise to me that they looked a little flat and tentative in that period. Let’s see if the PP to open the second gets them going.

Yeah, we’d have Samson but as Liger pointed out, then we wouldn’t have Levi. And based on what we know now, I’m glad about that as Levi has the potential to be a transformative goalie for this team in the future.

I don’t think that’s relevant. Samson will have been a good piece on a loaded team that was a contender before they acquired him. If Levi makes us a contender, I think that trumps Samson’s contribution.
