For 3 years?
-
Any list that includes Minnesota on the list is worthless. They are committed to paying over $12M in buyouts for three years starting next year. Add in Kaorizov and Erikson Ek along with a Eichel and you have $40M tied up with three players plus the buyout and that’s assuming Buffalo takes Zuccarello off their hands. Like I’ve said before, I expect the cap to explode but not that soon.

GDT: Buffalo vs Vancouver 10/19/21 7 pm MSG

I have two tickets for tonight’s game. Person that bought them can’t go. Just want someone to use them. PM me if interested. Awesome seats on the aisle although you could probably sit anywhere -
Taro and I have decided to pick game against Montreal, the day after Thanksgiving to get together. Wyld will hopefully join us meaning I have one extra ticket, maybe two. I probably can get more. The one or two I have will be $100 each. Let me know if anyone else is interested.

Sorry “the same reason every team prefers players a little farther along in development in trades.” Is a lame answer. Let’s say, for hypothetical sakes, the deal is Kreb’s, Hague and a 1st; is there any reasonable reason from Buffalo’s side, that this trade must happen now as opposed to a few months from now? I believe a deal is close at hand because teams are offering more but I see no reason the trade has to happen now just because others need it to happen.

Why? The return they receive for a Eichel will likely have minimal impact on this season. Why is there any pressure for them to do anything before they are ready?

You do not retain salary when you are trading a very good, young player on a good value contract. You only retain when you are dumping a bad contract. It’s as simple as that.

Dreger: Eichel situation may be shifting, multiple teams involved

No, you made an unequivocal statement about Adams. Why, exactly, have none of these journalists called and asked? It’s not really hard to get on a phone and ask for comment. Finally, again, it is amusing to me when “insider” info is gospel when it validates one’s opinion, but garbage when it doesn’t. -

Or Lebrun is wrong, or there was never an offer close enough to justify releasing medicals or Eichel’s previous counsel wouldn’t allow it or…….. -
A little perspective, while the Sabres are in obviously worse shape then most, I talked to someone at league offices today that told me several teams are dealing with a significant drop in season ticket sales. On top of that, just read a tweet from a Pittsburgh reporter who said today’s announcement regarding season ticket packages in Pittsburgh was the first time he ever heard an in arena announcement.

I agree that some click at different ages just don’t think it has anything to do with when you start playing them in the NHL.
-
I’m talking about players in general.

And I still think this is crap. If someone is mentally weak enough that they are messed up by their early years they were never going to make it anyway. There really is no way to prove it short of creating an alternate universe but I believe “bad at developing” is just a euphemism for “wasn’t very good in the first place.”

Who didn’t believe it? Our group went from a height of 21 tickets down to 6 this year. On the plus side for those who still bought tickets, the secondary market should be a little higher when trying to sell to fans from other teams. Their choices will be to buy at season ticket price from us or box office price from the team. I will be supremely pissed if the team offers discounts on tickets. By the way, don’t feel too bad for Terry, most of the lost tickets revenue will be made up by paying about $30M less in payroll.

No, you are missing the point. Failure is making a deal just to make a deal.
-
A) I could not care less what people on social media think. Like every other issue, there is nowhere near the unanimity that you portray. B) when there is a deal worth being taken, it will be done. I don’t care if it happens tomorrow, next month or next year.
-
So we want our GM to make his decisions in order to acquiesce other fanbases? We now care that much about what other fans’ perception is of our franchise? Seriously that is who we are worried about?
-
Who is talking about it? I’m seriously asking. Other then message boards or “insiders” who is talking about it?

Who exactly are all these people casting a jaundiced view of the league because of the Jack Eichel stalemate? I have not seen a single story discussing this that hasn’t been written by an “insider” a “blogger” or a fan who wants him traded to “their” team. Is it being covered by ABC. NBC, CBS, FOX, ESPN, CSPAN, ??? Is their a Ken Burn’s documentary being written? Is Congress investigating?
