  1. Acquiring this third makes not closing the Chykurn deal even worse.
  2. This is incredible. I’m at a loss to explain how Buffalo doesn’t make this deal.
  3. Yep. One of my dad’s favorites. The family bakery was around the area.
  4. Swanning House isn’t bad, either.
  5. Haven’t heard that name in awhile.
  6. No worries but the tweet involved was talking about Columbus being interested in Chykhurm and LG disputing it because of their defensive depth.
  7. My post wasn’t regarding Quick. I wouldn’t give up anything above the fourth round for him.
  8. I’m hoping it’s ‘24 and none of last year’s three number ones but I don’t think it’s likely.
  9. Question, would you rather do ‘23 and not include Oslund or ‘24 and include him?
  10. Again I ask, what did any of these teams give up that they will regret in the next two or three years? The teams above Buffalo got better, not just for this year but at least for next year as well. The Sabres will not only have to continue to develop but they will have to improve significantly to compete with the big boys next year.
  11. There is almost a zero chance of meeting the Rangers in the first round.
  12. Three of these four teams will be disappointed but I’m not sure any of them did anything that will hinder them going forward.
  13. It’s a fine line. Sometimes you can overplay your hand. However, generally speaking, setting your price and sticking to it us the best way of doing business. We will see if it pays off this time.
  14. I’m wondering if this might be the case as well.
  15. Didn’t Murray give up a third for Vesey?
  16. Interesting that he won’t sign with Anaheim but San Jose thinks he’ll sign with them.
  17. There is no way they go into next year with Comrie and UPL.
  18. Paying one goalie a significant AAV while the other is on an entry level deal is palatable although I’d still prefer something below $5/$6M.
  19. With the rising cap, having your top 4 forwards locked up for a combined $28M and multiple forwards expected to be contributing on entry level deals, these worries about cap crunch are fodder, utter nonsense and excuses.
  20. Leslie Frazier taking year off from coaching. It will be interesting to see what they do. Don’t expect radical change in philosophy.
  21. I do too. I didn’t mean to imply it was a negative
  22. This has actually been reported by multiple sources. Washington, like St Louis, is stuck deciding whether to tear it down or do a quick rebuild.
  23. This is true but it’s imperative the team is open and honest with him about their plans. He’s a cocky kid who thinks he should be in the NHL right now so they have to nurture that.
  24. And that’s what has become the norm. The more uniforms they wear, he more they can sell.
  25. A first in 25, a second in 26. Unless we are all wrong about the talent in the system, you are looking at guys who have a 25% chance of being useful in 4 to 5 years. Like I said ad nauseum, and I know others disagree, but people are putting too much value on picks. I encourage you all to read the comments of Tampa GM. Smart teams are recalibrating value of draft picks. Buffalo might be a year away from doing this but why not now when players like this aren’t rentals, are relatively cheap and are useful pieces when building your team.
