  1. No matter how many times you say, it isn’t true. Like most of us have said, they won’t do it. I believe they should, but they won’t.
  2. He’s still an RFA, so he has no choice but to play next year for $10M qualifying offer or leave that money on the table.
  3. I don’t think they trade for him but they definitely can afford him.
  4. I’m pretty sure you all know, but just in case, you realize that is from last January.
  5. Topics like this always amaze and intrigue me. Surely people understand that their opinion on anything is not the be all, end all. I have no problem with everyone’s opinion, just that they think it’s so absolute.
  6. I do not think building capacity is linked to available seats but I don’t think they drop that low. I could see 15-16K, however.
  7. I don’t think you need that many anymore. Arenas through all sports have started to scale back, at least in most cases.
  8. If you saw the clip of the Cincy sideline when 58 made the hit, they all knew it was a late hit as well. As far as the holding calls the Cinci fans are complaining about on that last play, it’s mostly a misunderstanding of what is, and what isn’t allowed per rules. All that being said, the officiating has been brutal in these playoffs and I think the NFL is finally realizing they just address it. I’ve been saying for awhile that getting in bed with gambling is going to have at least one positive effect. Gamblers are going to insist on fairness and a correct outcome. I could even see a lawsuit happening. It might not be winnable but someone with deep pockets could make things uncomfortable for them.
  9. I didn’t realize it was post expansion. It makes it better for me. Esposito may be too high for me but you can’t argue with his numbers. I’m not going to assume anything and won’t talk you off that hill but Orr changed the game and before his knees gave out was the single most dominant player ever.
  10. Like someone else said, this seems like common sense. The trick is trying to stagger out when your players are holding back so you have a competitive chance in most of the games. Also, another reason you need a goalie capable of steeling a game here and there.
  11. Bertuzzi is exactly the kind of “me first” huh that Adams should, and will, avoid.
  12. You are not the first who thought I was labeling them a “Cup contender “ this year. I was talking about going forward, and how there wouldn’t be room for “on the job training “ going forward.
  13. And you, going out of your way to defend the creep, I guess that says all I need to know. Thank you.
  14. Showing my hand? I actually like when idiots like him speak their minds. It shows how idiotic and contemptible they really are but I hold how they treat woman and bully everyone that I hold with much greater contempt. The midgets might willingly get into a ring or allow themselves to be human bowling balls but I’m sure the woman in Bobby’s life didn’t consent to the abuse they took. Does anyone have the right to assume they are relevant? Speak all you want. Expect anyone to care? Not so much.
  15. Hmm, midget wrestling vs. wife beater/ nazi supporter.
  16. Hmm. Quinn, JJP and Krebs learned more practicing with the big club. Savioe next year. I feel a trend developing.
  17. This is the article I tried to link a week or so ago. As I said then, if you can get your vote locked up now, do it.
  18. I know it’s been a long time for all of us but the Sabres are entering that period were a few things change; 1) Any long term additions need to be top tier upgrades. Six or seven of their top nine forwards should be pretty much set for the next two or three years. If Krebs continues to embrace his current role that’s another one. Assuming a couple of veteran forwards with a defensive edge to them, there will be room for two, maybe three prospects in the top thirteen/fourteen. 2) As good as Quinn and JJP have played, they demonstrate how most prospects are not ready to be main pieces on a cup contender. Therefore, any prospect that won’t be able to make an immediate impact is just a chip that may be used to acquire something that will have an immediate impact. 3) They will likely trade players that are actually good. It’s not about amassing the twenty most talented players, it’s about building a team. You need players that do the little things, players that will occasionally contribute during a grueling eighty-two game schedule and players that will understand they may sit for a deadline day acquisition once the playoff start when players are acquired at the deadline. 4) For some of you, welcome to a brave new world. Buckle up, it can be fun.
  19. It’s not that unusual for players waived through the league are later traded. There are several reasons for that mostly concerned with contract and other restrictions. Also, without looking it up, I would bet more players stay the four years and sign with team that drafted them. However, the only ones anyone pays attention to are the 1 or 2 legitimate prospects that have options. Finally, I still think there is a decent chance Johnson signs and I agree, Portillo walks or his rights are traded and I still think he is a long shot prospect at best.
  20. Most of the venues are designed so they a good majority can actually watch the game while in those restaurants and bars. Still, I’m with you, I’m watching from seats.
  21. You have to remember that the arena was built in mid 90’s and was billed as a no frills, built within budget arena. The arena can be upgraded. They can remove seats and create what most people now want. The Rogers center is in the process of being renovated to try and vooy what is now in vogue. Wider, less seats and multiple entertainment areas. You watch a RedWing game now and you would swear no one is there because they are all in one of the 80 restaurants and bars in the place. Kim Pegula’s absent will be felt mostly here as she was spearheading the renovations.
