I love winter. It's not even close.

I just got in from riding a snow machine for the first time. It's my nephews and he keeps them at my house because he just moved into a new apartment. Apparently, during a snow emergency in NJ, it's legal to drive them on the roads. What a ***** blast! I will be putting some miles on these these things this winter.

It was a year ago this weekend that I watched the Bills clinch the playoffs against the Steelers in my dad's log term care room in Lewiston. It was the last time I saw him alive. Fantastic night and memory. Tonight is fantastic, as well. Verd would be happy. I know I am.

You are acting like everyone that doesn’t get the vaccine will die and getting it is the only way to keep people safe. Those who can continue to wfh should and they don’t need the vaccine and can wait. I can go to work like I have every day, practicing all the same precautions that I have been, and I don’t need the vaccine and can wait. I want to see hockey. They're not playing for a month. Plenty of time to get more doses. A couple of thousand doses isn’t going to bring this country to its knees while providing millions of man-hours of escape from BS

You’re being obtuse. There are already plenty of doses to do both. Of course, people in nursing homes and healthcare workers should get it first. I already said as much. But like Derrico said, mental health issues are a real thing. Hockey would help a lot of people. I wonder if this is the hill you would be fighting on if it didn’t effect you personally.

I have no problem with and actually I want the NHL to cut the line. The NHL being able to start the season affects more than just its players and owners. Millions of people watch and enjoy hockey. There has been terrible isolation and boredom throughout this whole thing. I can’t even imagine how much easier this would have been if I had something to fill three hours (sometimes more) of the day every day. I will be one of the last people to get the vaccine. I’ll be surprised if I get it by August of next year, despite all of the recent (imho misguided) optimism. The NHL will help me get through this. I don’t see why they should have to put themselves at risk for providing that service. Jab ‘Em!

I always hold my card with the receipt in one hand. Once I get to my, truck I use hand sanitizer on my hands and the card. Yes, it's overkill, since I don't think there has ever been a proven case of someone getting it through surface contact, but why risk it.

Taken from the other thread. I think one of the biggest failures of the whole thing has been the untold story of our healthcare workers. I know a bunch and they will most likely be dealing with this emotionally for a long time. Americans are arrogant and stupid. They need to be shown things. We needed to see more pictures of ERs and ICUs (I know that’s difficult due to HIPA rules). We needed more interviews with nurses pushed to the edge. I don’t feel the media did a good enough job telling this story and it may have convinced more people to take it seriously if they had.
