Time for a cup of coffee

Agreed. I thought he played that perfectly.

Ugh. Fine.

Is this game worth turning on?

Weird

Oooo that might be one of mine: John Pinette http://youtu.be/SwTaSjH6i9M

Woah Woah Woah, are we doing groups?
-
I guess I'll watch. Gotta see if these guys are having fun out there.

I mean, I get it, you can't be "on" all the time. You burn out. But as an athlete under the public eye, you have to make sure you're not giving anyone a reason to think you're just yucking it up and not doing everything you can to earn that paycheck. I always think about that article from a few years ago about Jagr, and how the guy walked into Florida and told the trainer "I need you all the time" and would just call him and tell him to come to the rink to work out at like midnight on a Tuesday. https://mobile.nytimes.com/2016/04/09/sports/hockey/jaromir-jagr-still-playing-with-florida-panthers.html?hp&action=click&pgtype=Homepage&clickSource=story-heading&module=photo-spot-region I don't want any quotes from this team about how tight-knit they are. I want quotes from this team about how they're trying to take things to that next level of commitment. Where's Jack Eichel calling up the Sabres trainers at 3am looking for some ice time?

If these guys aren't mad about how bad they are, and that isn't eating at them every day, then they're all bums.

Good Lord

The amount of information I just had to provide on the application for a part time job is ridiculous. No wonder companies can't fill positions. Stop making people give you their entire life story for a $10/hr position. You don't need references, you don't need their work history, you don't need to know where they went to school. You just hire them. And if they suck: fire them.

I don't like making the argument because I know it sounds sexist, but it's simply a matter of size and strength in the pool of women's hockey talent. Until there are enough women playing hockey where a pro league can consist almost entirely of Hilary Knight types the game just isn't going to attract more than the most dedicated fans. I enjoy women's hockey and am a big supporter. And it can be entertaining once you adjust your expectations. It's not the NHL. For the price of tickets it's a good value. My hope is that over the next 10 years there will be a bump in size and strength in the talent pool with the stigma of "women as jacked up athletes" becoming less prevalent. It would probably lead to fewer injuries and make introducing things like checking a more palatable option. I want to note that during my college days I became acutely aware of the fact that the women's team players are RIT were concussed way more often than the men's team players. Many of them were wearing special helmets to deal with the problem. A quick read on women's sports and concussion rates. https://www.washingtonpost.com/posteverything/wp/2015/02/10/our-effort-to-reduce-concussions-in-youth-sports-overlooks-the-biggest-victims-girls/?utm_term=.8f3ccd9cca83

"bring in food" day at work is stupid anyway. Either cater lunch or don't bother.
-
Me as well. I like giving that line a chance.

I'm pretty sure there's nothing stopping him from doing it except his own will to see and not suffer things like broken cheek bones. I don't think those old masks are banned or anything.

Good.

Sabres prospects in the World Juniors this year
darksabre replied to GASabresIUFAN's topic in The Aud Club
We've seen some chirping and stuff from him before. Taunting other teams. I would love for him to be the "attitude" guy this team needs. A more talented Steve Ott. -
I pigged out on all the junk food at work the last few days and I feel terrible. I think I'm fasting today

I'm going to say that I don't know if this will be good for him. I think I'd almost prefer he keep grinding things out in the A.

Interesting...

His previous production is irrelevant to me given his current play. This isn't just a slump. He's fallen right off the chart. So either he's crashing back to earth or he's having a down year. I'm inclined to think it's the former and that his production the previous two years under Bylsma was a product of him being sheltered instead of being asked to carry more of the water like this year. I don't know what he's going to command as an RFA, but I'm not confident I want to pay it. I might prefer to let another team deal with that.
