Well at least lowered expectations help a little although it still is depressing to see them continue to lose the way they do. Anyway, time to check my baby steps. 1.) Lowered shots against and more blocks. Except for the 2 lapses that ended up in back of the net I saw improvement here - pass 2.) Well they certainly generated more chances on the 2-4th lines however none were capitalized on. Fail, because it's not the number of chances but the # that end up in the net that counts 3.) Miller looked to have a good game only maybe one WTF goal the first one however letting that guy loose at the top of faceoff circle with a cannon is a very hard save. I will give a pass here 4.) Lindy;'s bench demeanor, overall presence and appearance to be in charge on the bench. Epic fail, 7 men on the ice when pulling the goalie, nuff said.

Baby steps, that's all i am looking for. Can they / will they play a better defensive game? Can they generate more from 2-4th lines? Will Miller conitnue to round into olympic form for that expected push for 8th place? Will Lindy say more than two words and look engaged on the bench? Yes these and many more questions will be answered tonight on "As your Sabre Turn's" Let's Go Buff-a-lo !

Me too, I had to do the book at my sons basketball game. They made a 3 pointer at the buzzer to send it into OT. Lost in the 3 minute OT. Back to the sabres, sounds like we stole one which is good to do however you cannot count on that as a way to win on a regular basis. Very happy they won however need a 10 game win streak to convince me this team as contrived(players, coach, management) can win over the long haul. Sorry Terry/Ted I just can't believe your in that place in Egypt called D'Nile.

Well how about not falling down on his arse when he throws a check vs. trying to throw a check. :P So Lindy finally benches Myers, I would love to know if Lindy did this himself or did after all the fan outrage and letters to Mr Black get the others to talk to Lindy and say "hey coach you need to try something different because what you are doing is obviously not working". I watch and listen to NHL network besides some of the other center ice games and hear commentary on all the rookies this year that are doing well and contributing and how coaches helped by putting them in positions to succeed and grow on the ice and with their game. That applies to helping players break slumps and play to their level and exceed. Then i see the Sabres and things like it took us to this week to focus on faceoff's in practice. How about zone breakouts wonder if they decided that could use some practice, or goalie coach to point out to Miller he may be dropping to his knee's a bit earlier this year hence all the top shelf shots or glove hand side shots he's facing. I know the CBA did some things around how many days off and mandatory practices are allowed but did it limit amount of coaching allowed or did Lindy just interpret it that way or in re-inventing himself did he swing too far the other way and is trying not to criticize for fear of falling back to his players impression and supposed complaint about him and his style at the end of last season. I heard that implied in Mr and Regiers and Blacks we all need to change and listen and communicate better as a whole manifesto whenever the idea about swapping out GM and/or coach was brought up recently.

Islander's play a fast paced up tempo game. Buffalo has not faired well against that style yet this season and our goalies have been average, I expect another high scoring 4-3,5-4 type game. Good news is the islanders Defense and goaltending is as bad or may be may be worse than ours. If we can get some secondary scoring in this one I like our chances of coming out on top. Let's Go Sabre-space.

Hhhmmm, forgot to set the DVR, not going to make it home till late tonight. Meh I am just taking the attitude i just saved myself from another soul sucking hockey game. Yes sir center Ice provides that same comparison and result for me. I can just switch to another game which I regularly do and see what hockey is supposed to look like. When you can do that every night you see everything you said is true. I still try and do watch the games however the way they play really does make it a struggle for me as well.

Yep thats another problem with this team. They consistently go for the poke check instead of playing the body. Thats my defintion of soft and what I hate about this system. Teams must just love playing Buffalo because they do not have to worry about getting knocked off the puck.

I do not like this matchup. I have been watching my Center ice and scouting Ott. They play a real high tempo fast break game same as Montreal and we all saw how well that went in Montreal Sat. Anderson has been one of the best goalies SV% and GA and in making the key saves at critical game times. If the team defense does not improve in this game I'm afraid of another Montreal like meltdown. Best case Miller has an olympic performance and we win a 2-1 SO. What I really want to see win or lose is an inspired team performance(ala Boston) and for John Scott to pummel Chris Neal because I still loathe that piece of shaught. Let's Go Buff-a-lo !

That was an interesting video that I forgot about living here in daberg. That might as well have been Lindy describing his team, last year and now the defense this year. I am not sure if your advocating anything with it's posting but the team did vote(mutiny) Therien off the island after the first failed Stanley cup appearance against Detroit and they got Blysma and a cup aginst detroit the year later. Sabres do not have the talent level the Pens had when that happened although their defense looks about the same as that Pens team.

Had a couple growlers of Stone Vertical 12-12-12 over the weekend. Dubbed a belgium dark ale and i found it very yummy with a nice kick.
