I'm sure you guys aren't getting it up there, but Chris Christie, NJ governor is awesome. I know nothing about his politics, but all day when he's had a press conference he's been ornery. A little while ago he basically called the governor of Atlantic City a tool. Paraphrasing: "For some reason, Mayor Lankford decided to tell people to stay in shelters in the city, after I ordered them out. One of those shelters is a block from the bay. We cannot rescue anyone until 7AM."

I'm planning an audience with the Storm King later. Hopefully my appeals will meet with Victory. The second is the new Victory Midlands Stout. It's fan-freaking-tastic. It's "mid-way" between Storm King (Imperial) and Donneybrook (very Guinness-like). It's mid-strength at 5.2% , with a ton of roasted malt and some chocolate and almost a coffee taste.

Same here. Sure there's ###### out there, but it's far from the norm (in my rather small sample set). Just like there are people who'd celebrate certain murders and whatnot.

I think if a well-known Democrat came out for Romney, they'd be talking about it. Some random or even famous conservative comes out for Romney? Not news.

Well there's a shocker, Republican that doesn't march in lock-step is labeled irrelevant. I wonder how people who don't label themselves "the right" feel about him, cause that's what's important.

I just don't understand Texas. As a whole, they seem to have this weird superiority complex where their ###### don't stink. It's similar to a lot of people I know from NYC. Snobs, I guess I'd call it. Anyways, I'm going to Houston in a few weeks, I guess I'll have to check it out on my own and figure out if it's something that is really pervasive or just what you see from afar. FWIW, I believe this country should be a paragon of honesty and fair play. And we should put it on display to anyone that wants to come see it, anything else and we look like a banana republic. Ask yourself this: if Iraq (for example) refused to allow inernation observers, would you be fine with it?

Heh, white dude in a suit at 1:25. And they apparently have different standards on lip-sync over there. It's not bad at first but towards the end it's really obvious. I do love the song though, I remember hearing it on this thread just before it went nuts.

Pretty much what you said. What would have been likely a very minor accident for both parties becomes a huge hassle for one. Although you can't be too upset about screwing up someone's car that rear ends you. :) As someone who rides a motorocycle, though, I'd much rather slide into a flat bumper than a harpoon.

So we're taking Miami's word on snowfall? I'll be ready for my 3/4" storm of the Century then. :) It wouldn't be the first time I've gotten some snow at my house. In 2010 we got two storms a few days apart (both top-10 for SE-PA). It wouldn't have been that bad if they had any clue how to deal with it around here.

I'm curious which models you're talking about. Weather.com and accuweather.com (for instance) has Killington, VT in the 40s all next week. Where is all this snow going to fall if not there?

Leaving the hitch on a truck/car all the time. What, you're worried that you're going to have to tow something and the extra minute to put the hitch on will be the difference between life and death? Someone could make up some conspiracy theories about ESPN being mad at the NHL or something, but odds are there's a market. There's no top-level hockey right now, putting that game on gives all hockey fans *something* to watch. Eyeballs on the set to sell ad spots.

I'm not sure about that, at least in my experience. I'd be hard pressed to think of the last time I thought to myself and said, "I wonder what the priest at my church* would do?". It just doesn't register to me. I'm sure there's some general concepts lurking around back there, but what I've taken from religion is A> be excellent to everyone B> everyone has an agenda. But has his record as president really panned out that way? It doesn't seem like it to me, but I don't follow as closely as others here. Maybe he's one of those (rare) people that can see the difference between what's good for him and what's good for the country and how those might not be the same thing.
