  1. it's not just the right who believe terming these types of events for what they are - it's most logical thinking people, regardless of right vs. left. I have already explained what calling a spade a spade is - It would reveal Obama shows he can connect the dots and maybe give an inkling to the American citizenry that he is at least trying to give some semblance of not being disconnected. It's more than semantics - it's guidance on how to tackle the problem & leadership. Obama continues to amazingly call these terror attacks as law enforcement issues instead of what they are - matters of national security . It would also reject a commitment to changing the rules of enga "the long game" ? really? he shows an obvious ignorance of any game agreed - and I feel strongly enough about this ongoing banality that I don't give a sh*t if I get flamed
  2. honestly, with all due respect and with any emotion removed, I want him to call a spade a spade and his obvious evasion of the truth speaks to an agenda and I believe emboldens ISIS to increase attacks on soft targets. "Mateen called 911 around the time of the attack to pledge allegiance to ISIS and mentioned the Boston bombers, according to a U.S. official." http://www.cnn.com/2016/06/12/us/orlando-nightclub-shooting/index.html Is this not enough? Disney world is now on high alert. My wife & I have a 5 yr old daughter with annual passes to Disney. I want this cancer removed and it would seem to me we are living with an impotent, uber PC White House.
  3. the worst massacre in U.S. history, committed by a committed jihadist with confirmed links/pledging allegiance to Al-Bagdadi, who yelled "Allahu Akbar" as he was shooting. ISIS announced a warning 3 days ago that something was going to go down in Florida. Within the last 45 minutes ISIS officially claimed responsibillity. Our president comes out in a press conference and he terms the shooter as "suspected ties to terrorism" and a "person filled with hatred". He then doubles down and plays the gun control card and turns it into merely an attack on the LGBT community. News flash: certain people that commit acts of terror don't buy guns legally from a gun shop. The Tsarnaev brothers used homemade pipe bombs. He refuses to mention even a possible connection to a virulent strain of Islam - ever. This is an agenda, folks. Sorry to rain on the pro-Obama parade. Yes, he's pushed the button on drone strikes eliminating high-value targets not in the U.S. What does this mean for us here? Weak, feckless, irresponsible, arrogant, shameless - he then walks out of the press conference without talking any questions, and it's obvious why. Flame on as I'm sure most will, per the left-leaning bent of this board. This event should transcend politics & ideology. I was fully expecting President Obama to say what he did and unfortunately, he did.
  4. just consider the source when an opinion is completely driven my ideological myopia, i.e.,"She is following one of the most successful Presidents in US history" :wallbash: :wallbash:
  5. definitely not Foligino.....although the elder Foligino might disagree - - :flirt: We have not seen enough of Fasching and he has more room to develop, IMHO. The post above about too many passes bouncing off Bailey's stick concerns me; is that legit ?
  6. Correct me if I am wrong, but since he did not sign with the Preds isn't he already an UFA, or is he still restricted by the date?
  7. I did not get to watch, was GMTM asked about any efforts to go after Harvard's Hobey Baker winner, Jimmy Vesey ? I found a YouTube clip of him taking over a game against my alma mater by scoring a hat trick in the 3rd period for a 3-1 win. Pretty damn impressive, and he has a Yeichel connection.
  8. Thanks for the Keystone Kops moment, Linus.
  9. If true, all the more reason to start him tomorrow at a roadie instead of the home finale (disguised as Fan Asphixiation night)
  10. If getting to .500 is such a priority, why start a college goalie and a few minor league callups? If only you were lucky to be one of the 5,000 fans to arrive, you'd get a sweet mini-stick. As pointed out up thread, so much for an ill-conceived and ill-executed Fan Appreciation Night. Looks and feels like a preseason game.
  11. What team is this I am having the pleasure of watching?
  12. verb - "to Fasching" = atomic elbow delivered to head of goalie after scoring on a power move in tight
  13. Weak effort indeed by Lehner on the GWG, but I can't say McD "owned" Buffalo tonight. He scored on a backhand where Lehner goes down and overcommits way too early, after a giveaway, then scores in OT on a garbage seeing-eye backhand. Yes, if I'm Eichel I am pissed too, That had to have been at least the 3rd time in recent memory he came close to a GWG in OT.
  14. here are the conditions on the McGinn deal: The third-round pick becomes a second-rounder if the Ducks win two playoff rounds. If it's a third-round pick, it will be in 2016. If it is escalated to a second-round pick, that selection will be made in 2017. http://www.tsn.ca/tradecentre/trade-tracker
  15. I don't know how you can describe Obama's attempted joke as "a comment delivered in a very straightforward way." He made the comment last in a laundry list of activities which were to convey for those in the last months of a current term, so he was teeing it up in a weak attempt at humor. And just because some cackling hen in the audience thought it was funny doesn't make it humorous at all, esp. due to the timing; as Eleven has said, too soon.
  16. I hear you 11; what gave me additional pause was finding out the Obamas spent barely 2 minutes paying their respects to Justice Scalia at his wake last Friday. I'd gladly commend President Obama for any display of statesmanship and decency after opting to have Biden attend the funeral mass, but sadly I cannot. One would think a deceased SC judge who gave 30+ years of his life to public service might deserve a more appreciative gesture by the current President, but apparently not. As you say Eleven, too soon; and poor optics all the way around. I was so enthused to hear 2 justices were "best buddies" despite their ideological differences: Bader-Ginsburg & Scalia....then this near no-show by Obama, who squandered an easy opportunity to rise above the partisan fray. That was low-hanging fruit, a softball teed up for Obama he wiffed on. I commented earlier on Obama's decision to skip the funeral, and was prepared to make that my only comment, until this. http://www.bizpacreview.com/2016/02/20/unbelievable-photo-released-of-obama-after-spending-less-than-2-min-at-scalias-wake-308214
  17. keep it classy, Mr. President..... not sure how or why you might have thought your joke was funny......
  18. the answer to your question is largely driven by what opportunities might be possible for me with my current company (a worldwide tech company). I'd personally love to try Italy as that's where my ancestors are from, but truthfully we haven't gotten to that point yet in our conversations. There are pros and cons everywhere, and what I don't want to do is make a decision b/c the grass might be greener somewhere else.
  19. It's interesting you brought that up Hoss; my wife, who is Brazilian and holds dual citizenship, has mentioned this to me but under a significantly different context: she wants us to move if HRC or Bern becomes POTUS.....bet you didn't see this response coming on this board (...and from me - :flirt: ) My wife has more respect and knowledge of what it takes to be a U.S. citizen than most native-born citizens I know. She cherishes the rights and liberties we have. I was her during her oath of allegiance at her naturalization ceremony; it was an emotionally moving and educational experience. When she was a teen, her stepdad (an American citizen who was working in Brazil for a U.S. company while she met my mother-in-law, had his entire retirement fund confiscated by the despotic Brazilian government at that time. He struggled to even get to a healthy retirement, let alone enjoy it. Fast forward to 2016: Brazil has been run into the ground by the Socialist "Iron Lady". (....and, no, I'm not implying this scenario would happen under a Clinton or Sanders POTUS). While I don't have much hope for a successful Trump presidency, I am married to someone who does have a polar opposite view of perhaps wanting to leave the U.S. depending on who wins POTUS. Just wanted to share a different perspective. Just an entirely different perspective.
  20. I agree Dunleavy is a mixed bag of nuts at this point, and his goal calls can be off-kilter, but I do enjoy "the Eichel Tower".
  21. Lehner calling out Jenner as the latter was skating off the ice... Didn't take a lot to figure out what he was yelling at him. I love this guy.
