Interesting. I wonder what their collateral is — or maybe this is just a scenario where they take a secured interest in the asset being sold.

Ghostbusters IS a classic.
Until you have that moment where you see it on your tv listings, click on it, only to find out that it’s the all women one. The same thing happens from time to time with Karate Kid and one other movie that is escaping my brain right now.

Have fun and build your bracket.

Stupid ***** just jeopardized his teams chance at the playoffs.
What the hell was he thinking. He goes for the slash but swings upward. It’s just so damn stupid.

could we hire Dave Andreychuk as a "netfront presence" coach? lol
No, but he is available as a skating coach.

My grandfather was really into researching his ancestry 30 or so years ago. At one point he was sharing his family cost of arms with everyone. No one had the heart to tell him it was fake.

Another shot at Meatballs. There's no denying the theme in the comments from those who have escaped.
Are people shocked that the beat team in the league has a better setup than Buffalo?

I’ve always thought dropping the gloves and fighting was stupid. I’m a fan of scrums and scrimmages after chippy play or when someone takes a cheap shot because that’s legit emotion
Scrimmages? So what do they do, just call or the game after a choppy play and say the rest of the time on the ice doesn’t count?

For all intents and purposes, this thread has fizzled out.
Am I supposed to take my ball and go home now, locking the thread?

Yeah - this new COO's role could be more strategic than operational.
That said, I remain curious: Who's actually employing him? Like, where's his W-2 (or where are his W-2s) coming from at tax time?
Do they not have an LLC (or whatever the appropriate term is) anymore?

He would actually be the perfect person for the new roof.

I took a quick buzz through the Buffalo News article on the hiring.
The news struck me as encouraging - perhaps very encouraging.
The guy's got substantial experience in pro sports management. He's plugged in on the NFL ownership level. He's coming to the Bills from the Giants, which is a well-regarded NFL franchise.
I thought that train between Buffalo and the Giants only was only one way to NJ.

I still think the Flyers are one of the teams that will fall out of the race. Trading them EJ was a 4D chess move and should be the grease that slide needed.
How about the scenario where Tampa, Detroit, and Buffalo all finish ahead of the 3rd place metro team but one still misses out on the playoffs? That would make for some fun complaints.

Anyway (<-- not "anyways")
I think that might be the most common one out there these days. I’d say that this one kills me, but apparently a few people out there take things a bit too literally (that one’s for you @nucci).

Don’t overlook the Flyers as a candidate to fall back. They have a very tough schedule. I expect them to be on a 7 game losing streak 5 games from now.
And then there’s this. They’re stuck with Johansen because he says he’s hurt.

You'll just have to connect the dots.
Could you imagine sitting down to what to what you think is going to be another thrilling connect the dots experience… and it winds up just being a straight line

I had some great private message conversations with him years back. I want to go back and see if they still exist. It was fun stuff about the youth hockey when he was growing up.

You know the best part? This “you don’t know football” take was made while talking about someone’s social media habits.

There are a lot of wacked out NFL players... WR's seem to be chock full of interesting personalities.
Perhaps Diggs likes stirring the pot as some sort of statement on the drama of social media and the general public's desire to engage in it.
Then again.. perhaps he's just bored.
Or... he's wacked out.
If I was a child of the social media era, I would be messing with people’s heads constantly. The more cryptic the better and it would be a daily thing.

I actually enjoy it, to be honest. A lot of what people call "bad grammar" is actually difference in dialect.
Example:
"The lawn needs to be mowed" versus "The lawn needs mowed." Both are clear in their meaning. The former is the more common usage, usually considered "standard" in a sense. The latter is peculiar to a small region in southwestern Pennsylvania and West Virginia, largely settled by Scotts. The grammatical structure is correct in Scottish usage. The "needs mowed" usage has entered colloquial English. A generation ago it was rare to hear this usage outside of region I described; now it's not uncommon to hear it. It's entered the lexicon and is a recognized usage.
For as much as people make fun of Rob's grammar, it is part of the dialect he speaks. I'm sure that if the producers of Sabres broadcasts thought it was a problem, they would have suggested he go to a vocal coach and learn "standard" grammar, but we all understand what he's saying, so what's the big deal?
I feel like it’s usually pretty easy to spot the difference between a language barrier and just plain not knowing any better. I don’t know that your dialect suggestions qualify as a language barrier, but I’m comfortable making that association.

Well I just looked that up since I'm 99% certain you are speaking of me.
Holy *****, I never even knew that
Would've = Would have obviously but Would of = Is akin to "wood of a tree" and while speaking aloud it makes sense doesn't read correctly. Hopefully I remember this for future posts 🙂
Who knew that a late night mid-feed post could actually educate? My one contribution for the year has been made.
And on a completely different note, it’s not a grammar thing but I get a kick out of seeing a few people in here who don’t understand the concept of hyperbole.

I recently took a little jab at someone for calling a player a “duel threat”. It got me thinking about how there are some recurring posting habits around here that always have me rolling my eyes. We don’t need any public shaming here, I’m more looking for some subtle shaming instead. I won’t name any names, but you know who you are.
So here we go:
1. A certain poster named after a type of hair extension constantly says “noone”. I don’t know if he or she thinks it is old English after spending too much time at ye olde pub at 12pm, but that’s not a word.
2. Sticking to the hair theme, a certain large hairy alien regularly talks about things that he/she “would of” done. I can’t even think of some witty way where you could actually use those two words together. Maybe if I would’ve had more sleep last night.
There you go. Even the greatest of detectives can’t possibly know who I am talking about. I’m sure there are many other typos and grammar oddities out there, maybe even from me. Let’s hear them. Or feel free to pick something out from this very post. Like I said, limited sleep.

All good points.
KA has admitted a mistake on his part in signing Comrie, who by all accounts is a great guy. He has racalled a rockie instead of a vet with the playoff chances dangling by a thread. He trusts Levi more, which is the only logical way to think.
It's a preasure cooker for Levi to be thrust into a literal must win game - no matter when he plays. I am guessing he will get Vancouver. It's a chance for him to shine and could be a motivator for the whole team.
On the other hand, it could all just as easily blow up in their collective faces.
I’d imagine that this is a Granato call, not Adams. The coach needs to be making this kind of decision at this point.
