Hopefully he works out better then that other Jets backup that had a good statistical season and then got a 2 year deal from another team.😜

Or the vast majority of the time that someone tries to make another teams backup their starter through free agency.

haha after I finished by borderline unhinged rant, I contemplated complaining about myself going off on a weird rant in response to a post from a week ago 🤣🤣

    Hope the back feels better.

I would just like to remind you that you’re defending a generation that walks around in public wearing pajama pants and crocks.

I, for one, am glad to see a departure from the "he's not a repeat offender because we never actually punished him before" mantra.

That’s not what happened at all. He threw a blatantly illegal hit and caused a multi-game injury. The two are additive when it comes to suspensions. This isn’t a change in approach. They can’t do that without getting in a huge fight with the union.

Or make teams have to be cap compliant on a game to game basis.  If the roster you put on the ice isn’t under the cap, you gotta sit someone.

They’re all CBA matters and they don’t want to open that can of worms.

But really, what we are seeing right now is our gambling overlords playing games. Of course the league has no issue with them.

I think you meant this for either the things that are awesome thread or complaint Thursdays thread. Why not both?!

I’m thinking I can remove the heads and just sell the mullet. That’s awesome. What do do with all the bodies? Complaint.

I was imprecise. The report alludes to the fact that various NHL clubs are doing various things in an effort to control this sort of unregulated secondary market activity. The Sabres are apparently citing a New York licensing issue in order to bring committed resellers to heel. Other clubs are presumably doing other things. And perhaps other states have ticket reselling licensure requirements.

All of the leagues are so in bed with the brokers. They (the brokers) can’t have anyone encroaching on their territory.

I’m a bit surprised that our gambling overlords haven’t completely taken over the fantasy league game yet.

That's what collective bargaining gets you.  The coaches aren't in a union.

And on top of that, it the. Allows the owner to pay it as he says he will. You can’t do that for a player. They don’t like cap circumvention.

By "certain STHs," the team says this:

A team spokesperson said less than 1% of the 2023-24 season ticket member base received this communication – a majority of the accounts being from out of state.

So it's apparently a very small number of STHs, most of whom are from out of state.

As for being "out of state," I think an implication here is that they're just resellers, not fans. But I wonder whether a lot of these STHs are true fans who live out of state, come back now and then, but need to sell most of their tix.

Also, this sort of move is apparently a thing throughout the NHL. That is, again, according to the team.

I don’t care enough to read through it, but how is something that is “state-required” a thing throughout the NHL? It sounds like a NY thing. But again, I’m out of market and will never buy a ticket up there, so I’m not going to read the whole thing.

Just like medical terms are Greek to a lot of people; that IT/network speak is Greek to me.

Just learning the stupid EMR gives me migraines.

Congrats, sounds like a lot of work you put in!

Ahhh EMR. The first time I started pulling data from those, they didn’t list units at all. It was really fun trying to figure out if someone was 160 lbs or 160 kg… two realistic numbers on extremely opposite ends of the spectrum.

End of an era in Pittsburgh looks like

I’d love to know what that trade would look like. I don’t know if Crosby would want to leave, but it would be a shame to see one of the best players ever close out his career  with multiple years with no chance of winning anything.

  11. My wife has this grabber claw thing that she uses to get laundry out of the washer because she’s short. Tonight my two year old was using that claw to hit a ball around the floor, constantly shouting “hockey stick!”. I feel like I’ve done a good job.

You might be right as long as one of the idiots wasn't Darcy. There are certainly many prime suspects to choose from. The Pitt Gang. Black, Sawyer, Benson, Battista!

The tank would have been fine with a better GM. Murray handled it horribly. His trade history is all the evidence we need to show how clueless he was. One different hire could have changed the entire course of history… but then again we’ve seen how bad they’ve been at hiring for the GM position.

I assume he meant pass-first tho, so I prob wouldn’t include Quinn. To me he’s more like a Mark Stone duel threat on each play

So are you suggesting that at any point he may just challenge someone to 20 paces at high noon in front of the old saloon?
